Wow! What an amazing day! Rick was an excellent guide and we loved spending the day with him. Biking is such a great way to see so much of Kyoto and hit some of the big attractions. This tour is absolutely fantastic and I couldn’t recommend it more. We had a great time and Rick did a wonderful job of guiding us through the city and sharing so much information along the way. Book this tour! You won’t regret it

This was easily the best tour that I have ever done in my life! Rob is an incredible guide who gave a lot of depth and insight into the spectacular sites of Kyoto. My partner simultaneously did the 1-day Kyoto bus tour, and she noted that all of the sites were crowded, whereas Rob took us on under-used paths that circumvented most crowds. With this tour, you also get to appreciate the beautiful and under-traveled bicycle/pedestrian trails throughout the city and see the streets of Kyoto first-hand. As a micro-glimpse into the tour, anytime that we passed folks on the street, Rob would politely greet them (in fluent Japanese) and humbly note that the bicycle group was coming through, and during stops he would explain the culture and etiquette of greeting others in Japan - as a result the locals wave and smile at you throughout the day as you pass. I will note that the standard (non-electric bike) is wonderful if you are excited for a workout, but with the e-bike option, anyone with biking experience can and should do this tour.

Great day out, Cass was a very knowledgeable guide and we were fortunate to have a very small group. This is a great way to get around Tokyo and see the sights and beats a self-guided tour. You get to jump the queue and not have the hassle of lining up for tickets. Consider an e-bike if you have an average fitness level.

If there’s only one thing that you’d do in Kyoto then the 8hour bike tour has to be one. It was my first time in Japan back in April and I still to this day tell my peers that the Grand Loop was the highlight of my trip. Roberto was such a great guide as well as a good person to connect with. His information was on point, he had the time to answer our questions, he gave us a bit of freedom but also kept the group safe from start to finish. The route was incredible as I got to see the city through those lenses. I got to experience the essence of the city and culture of the Japanese getting to see how magnificent those temples, gardens, streets, homes, neighborhoods and people were. I connected with the spirituality of the place and I would do the bike tour all over again next time I’m in town. Thank you Roberto for such an unforgettable experience. All and all ten out of ten!

We made a fantastic bike tour through Kyoto with our guide Cassiano. He was very friendly and informative and knew so much to tell. He lives near Kyoto himself, which allowed him to show the city and its surroundings from a very personal perspective. The electric bikes were of very good quality and made the trip comfortable and relaxed. They are a must for the rather tiring 44km. We came across quite a few beautiful places that we probably wouldn't have seen otherwise. A beautiful and varied tour, with a great guide. Definitely a recommendation if you want to discover Kyoto in an active way!

This was definitely one of the best tours I’ve been on. Biking through Kyoto was a real experience and we got to see so much of Kyoto and the neighborhoods between. I would highly suggest this for a great introduction tour of Kyoto. We went to 5 major stops listed, but there was so many shrines and temples that you can only see by being on a bicycle going between places. Our guide was Robb and he really knew the area, talking with locals, leading us through many places in Kyoto like the rice fields, rivers, and neighborhoods you would never see in a bus or train. Kyoto has so many temples and charm that you don’t see without going on a bike ride. The ride was 27 miles in 8 hours on mostly easy terrain. Nothing that can’t be impossible on and my 71 year old mother was able to do it with the electrical bike option. Lunch was filling and delicious, while breaks included ice cream and local coffee/matcha shops. The crowds were easy and Robb kept us from the busy streets. I would also recommend wearing some sunscreen even on cloudy days as you are outside most of the day. We came back realizing our Irish skin was looking pretty red.

I’ve done cycling tours all over the world, and this was hands down the best cycling tour I’ve ever done. What really sets this tour apart is Rob. He takes his role as a guide incredibly seriously, and it shows from start to finish. He is extremely knowledgeable, engaging throughout the entire tour, and has such a great way of bringing each historic area we visited to life. Rather than simply giving you facts, he tells the stories behind the places in a way that is interesting, memorable, and genuinely enjoyable. The whole experience was fantastic from beginning to end. A 10/10 tour, without question. More than anything, if you’re considering booking this tour, I would 100% recommend asking for Rob. Exploring a city by bike lets you experience it in a completely different way, and this fantastic tour proved exactly that! It was a very hot day, but being on the bike gave us a refreshing breeze along the way. We had an amazing guide, Cas, who was knowledgeable, kept a great pace, and made the tour both fun and informative. We had a wonderful day cycling past Kyoto's highlights (and Cas showed some hiden gems as well). This is a tour you absolutely shouldn't miss!
