Knight Templars Private Day Tour FRÅN LISBON - Almourol Castle och Tomar

It is all about the Knight’s Templar which is exactly what we wanted. 2 beautiful stops. Gonzalo was great. Took us to a local place for lunch. We asked him to order for us and it was delicious.

We had a fantastic trip with a very friendly and knowledgeable tour guide. He was also flexible with us in terms of what we wanted to see, what made the most sense given the weather, and helping us navigate through a tough set of food allergies for lunch. Our van was roomy and comfortable for the long day trip--we had a group of 7 and that size is a bit harder to accommodate. Out of 3 different guided tours we had in Portugal, this was the best one.

Our curated private tours hosted by Miguel was absolutely a magical experience. Upon meeting Miguel, he was gleaming with enthusiasm and excitement. Miguel is a true historian. He captivated my family with stories, tales and mysteries . He took us back to Medievel times, showing us its founding foundation, the rise and fall of Knights of Templars and the beginning of Freemason. Our tour resembles movies such as: Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade and National Treasures. Between visits, Miguel took us around town and boy is he so popular. He knew everyone and everyone knew him. He introduced us not as tourist but a long lost family from America. He acquainted our palettes to Portuguese culinary. Seafood delicacies that took us straight to the ocean. A feast with roasted pork. Finishing our palettes with pastel de Nata that dates back 1820 when Pastéis de Belém opened its doors. Our last tour was a lonely little town of Fátima a major pilgrimage site for Catholics. It was a perfect place to end our 3 days tour. There were 8 of us on this day tour and we were guided by Andy and Jaoa. Both were great and together even better. We saw and learned so much about Tomar and the knights. They picked out a wonderful restaurant for lunch in Tomar and the traditional foods selected were very good. Everyone found several items they enjoyed. Portugal Magik was great to work with. We took this tour with 3 other couples (we knew) that were heading back toward Lisbon, while we continued on with our guide for 3 more days of private touring.

Boat ride to the castle was the best part. We had the castle to ourselves. The countryside was beautiful. The company was great.

We booked two tours in the Lisbon area. Both were well organized, and informative. The area is beautiful. We visited all of the areas in the detail. Our guide was Diogo. He was always on time and he shared information on each of the visits, and the overall history of Portugal. The company's communication was fast and they made adjustments to the tour based on our needs. They were very flexible. We were very pleased and we highly recommend this company.

Our awesome Guide and Historian Extraordinaire - Jose Barreira..!   “Joe” is an excellent driver, a true professional.  He’s very friendly and has a great personality - which is very important if you are spending 8 days traveling together..!  - Very knowledgeable and enthusiastic… we shared many stories and laughs as we traveled through the Country.  Joe was absolutely great to “take charge” of our little group, keeping us on schedule… first history, then pictures…. “Lots of pictures”..!   One of our Favorites about “Private Tours and Guides” - the guides know the “Best Local Places to Eat”..!  Joe excelled at this..!  We even had him order for us each day…  Fresh Grilled Fish, Suckling Pig, Pork in Red Wine Sauce, Dungeness Crab.!  Each day was a new Foodi Adventure..!  Loved our afternoon stops for Fresh-made Sangria or Wine Tasting and Vineyard Tours..!  A New Friend for sure…!  Highly, Highly Recommend Joe as your Guide… you will learn so much from him..!!! 8 days of walking through History and exploring incredibly Beautiful Portugal!!!

My wife and I did this and the Sintra area tour with Jose Barreira and had the most wonderful time. The tour company is just wonderful and accomodating. There are not enough words to describe how good the guides are and Jose was special. The whole day from start to finish was a magical travel through history of the area and we feel we are now part of the great history of Portugal.

Excellent guide who was from the Tomar area and had a history degree. He shared in-depth details about the history of the area, including the building of Vasco DeGama's ships in the region. We had our two teen/pre-teen daughters with us and his stories kept their attention the whole day. It was a particularly hot day so we were very grateful of the A/C in the super-comfortable van. The guide planned the day really well so that we would be in shady, indoor areas during the hottest part of the day. In addition he took us for meals at local restaurants that were terrific. One of our best guide experiences ever.

My wife and i thoroughly enjoyed our private tour with our guide Francisco Canas. Francisco was a great tour guide. Most importantly he paced the tour to accommodate our our interests. Francisco also provided excellent insights into the Knight Templars as well as Portuguese history, life and culture in general. Just the right amount of history for us. He read his audience well. And Francisco took us to an excellent restaurant for lunch. One we would have never found on his own. Sintra Magic was an excellent tour provider. Communications with them were outstanding. Their Support and Sales Team desire a lot of praise. We'd definitely recommend Sintra Magic to our firends.
