På denna underbara dagstur från Reykjavík utforska vattenfallen och glaciärerna som Islands södra kustlinje är känd för. När alla är ombord på vår buss avgår vi från Reykjavík till Vík. Här byter vi till en superjeep för den svåra resan när vi stiger upp på glaciären. 4x4-kraft är avgörande för denna uppgift. Njut av glaciärlandskapet när vi utforskar konstiga isformationer och den kristallblå isen i Katla isgrotta. Utforska Vík, med sin svarta strand, och ät lunch. Vi går sedan med i bussen igen och på vår resa tillbaka till huvudstaden stannar vi vid Skógafoss och Seljalandsfoss, två av Islands vackraste vattenfall. Glaciärers och isgrottors utseende kan skilja sig beroende på faktorer som årstid, tid på dygnet, ljusförhållanden och andra variabler.
Vík är en av Islands mest pittoreska byar. Den ligger på den vilda södra kusten och är omgiven av magnifik natur, inklusive svarta sandstränder och basalthögar. Med utsikt över byn ligger Vikurkikja kyrka, som har en fantastisk utsikt.
Vi lämnar Vík och reser tillbaka västerut mot huvudstaden, men inte förrän ytterligare två viktiga hotspots vid sydkusten. Först ut är vattenfallet Skógafoss, ett kraftfullt naturligt underverk som gör besökarna imponerade. De kraftfulla fallen, som sträcker sig från en höjd av 60 meter och spänner över en bredd på 25 meter, genererar en konstant dimma som skapar livfulla regnbågar under soliga dagar. Inramad av frodig grönska och omgiven av dramatiska klippor, erbjuder Skógafoss en hisnande bakgrund för både naturentusiaster och fotografer. Utsiktsplattformen på toppen, som nås via en naturskön trappa, ger ett fantastiskt panorama över vattenfallet och det omgivande landskapet, vilket gör Skógafoss till en måste-se-destination för dem som utforskar Islands spektakulära landskap.
Vattenfallet Seljalandsfoss är en av Islands bestående ikoner. Berömd för sin underbara vandringsled som låter besökare gå bakom fallen, Seljalandsfoss är ett viktigt stopp på alla sydkustturer. Efter vårt 45 minuters stopp här fortsätter vi på väg tillbaka till staden.

Loved the small group experience. We had around 12 people and a great guide. I believe her name is Kate. She had a fun sense of humor which made the long day fun. I loved the "natural" ice cave vs. a man-made one. It was a shallow cave, just a few yards but very interesting. I also loved the waterfall that we were able to walk behind. Just a note of safety: getting up the rocks was steep at places and slippery because of the constant mist of the falls. You will need a raincoat of some sort as you will get wet. The experience, however, was awesome.
Pick up was on time at number 12-Foss Hotel. Alain was well versed in the history of Iceland and our stops for the day. He took pictures of our group of 8 too ! We had the best time today. Stopped for lunch and souvenirs too.

Incredible tour. Alain was a phenomenal tour guide, very informative, and knew everything from geophysics to folklore. The group and I were entertained the whole time. The waterfalls were beautiful, and the ice cave and landscape were something out of this world. Will definitely book another tour next time in Iceland!
The tour was absolutely fantastic with stunning views, fun experiences, and an amazing tour guide. Alain is very polite, easy to have a conversation with, and very educated about the geography, and political history of Iceland and was thrilled to share it with us. 10/10 would recommend.
This was a great day!!! Our tour guide Allain was fantastic!!! He kept us entertained the entire day with lots of information and fun stories. The waterfalls were great and the Ice Cave was so cool. The scenery was so unique it was worth the trip!

Excellent trip, worth the time and money. Little better planning needed as to pickup locations in the morning. We were an hour late getting picked up in the morning which was very frustrating. We did receive a full tour and driver John was great - very knowledgeable and friendly. Cave was amazing.
There were two guides on this tour, one who did the waterfalls and black sands in a mini bus and one who did the glacier and a beach in the 4x4. The best bit was the mini bus guide who picked me up showed me the waterfalls and drove us home. Although the glacier tour part was incredible and the driver was very capable, we drove on the beach at one point and I couldn’t see anything as I was on the side away from the shoreline so that was disappointing. I also felt like as a solo traveller I kind of got a bit ignored and out crowded by the larger groups I was with. However it did give me sometime to separate and sit outside the cave on glacier to just exist in the snow with the ravens and arctic fox tracks which was truly magical. I can’t say enough good things about the mini bus guide, he got me home in time to see the concert I was booked for and he was just smart, funny, intelligent and kind. It’s tough the over tourism in Iceland especially as a lot of people want to just check boxes and not exist and absorb the beauty quietly. I recommend this experience for sure, but wear proper shoes (one girl had trainers and no socks) and respect nature by being present and pausing.
The company sent me a statement on the eve of the tour informing me that I would not take the tour, but they made the same tour available to me at another company. The ride at the other company was spectacular, without any problems.
