It gives enough of an overview and interesting details within a good time period. My wife and I took about 75 minutes to complete it. But it could be don’t more quickly if desired. The AI voice is fairly good but really mangles some words, both in English et en français but still, overall, a very good tour.

The tour spent 80 percent of its time outside the cathedral before it took you inside. It was not well cued so you knew what you were supposed to be looking at. It was hard to follow and not good. This cathedral should develop its own audio guide. They are missing an opportunity.

On the balance between the exterior and interior: the Cathedral of Notre-Dame de Chartres has over 2,000 sculpted figures on its façades, making the outside one of the richest storytelling environments of any cathedral in the world. We made a deliberate editorial choice to dedicate more time to this, and we hear you that the transition inside felt abrupt. Our team is reviewing how to better signal that balance upfront so visitors can set their expectations. On navigation cues: because GPS signals cannot function reliably inside a cathedral, we provide visual cues through images of each stop location within the app. We are looking into why this did not work as expected for you, and we want to make sure it is seamless for every visitor.
