Phnom Tamao Wildlife Rescue Center är ett djurlivscenter som ligger ungefär 25 miles på väg söder om Phnom Penh, Kambodja. Centret grundades 1995 och med en yta på över 6 000 hektar skyddad regenererande skog är detta den största djurparken i Kambodja. Efter en spännande resa med taxi genom landskapet kring Phnom Penh anländer vi till Phnom Tamao, som är hem för The Wildlife Alliance. Denna ideella djurreservat sträcker sig över 6000 tunnland runt ett trädtäckt berg. Här får du lära dig om viktiga åtgärder som har vidtagits för att bevara vilda djur över Kardemummabergen och vidare. Du kommer att ha en chans att se tigrar, apor, elefanter, leoparder, vildsvin, rådjur, ormar och mer att upptäcka. Du kommer att ha möjlighet att mata frukt till de djur du väljer. Vi kommer att spendera cirka 4 timmar på detta besök.
Vi fortsätter sedan vår resa till Tonle Bati där vi kommer att njuta av en populär lokal lunch intill en vacker sjö. Du kan välja mellan grillat kött, grodor och fisk, papayasallad och inlagda grönsaker. Du rekommenderas att prova vår populära söta eller alkoholhaltiga palmjuice, eller sockerrörsjuice. Koppla av vid sjön i en traditionell halmstuga innan du fortsätter till vår nästa destination. Vi kommer att spendera cirka 1,5 timme här.
Vårt sista stopp är Chisor Mountain Temple. Njut av det fantastiska templet som ligger på toppen av berget. Här kommer vi att utforska den antika arkitekturen och njuta av utsikten över landskapet från ovan, innan vi avslutar vår resa med en solnedgångsresa genom landsbygden. Vi kommer att spendera cirka 1 timme här.

We had a wonderful day at the wildlife sanctuary, where we saw many different animals. After that, we took a 30-minute drive to a small temple on Chiso Mountain, which offered absolutely stunning views. Our guide, Yi, ordered a delicious local lunch for us—it was incredibly tasty. Yi was very friendly, knowledgeable about his country, and spoke perfect English

We had a great visit to the Wildlife Sanctuary and the temple on the mountain with our Guide Smile. Smile is highly experienced guide who provided all background information. We have seen tigers, bears, lions and all the amazing birds of Cambodia.

On the way to the wildlife sanctuary, the guide explained that they can't be sure what animals we'll see because the sanctuary aims to release them when they're ready, which is great to hear. There are a number of animals who seem as happy as they can be and the sanctuary doesn't seem to be exploiting them like many places in Southeast Asia do, but it doesn't come close to Western standards and I felt sorry for some of the animals (although they're better off than they'd be without the sanctuary). The BBQ lunch afterwards was 6 it felt like we were getting a taste of a real Cambodian leisurely lunch. The temple visit afterwards was interesting, but it was a little small and there wasn't much to it. The view was amazing. The guide was friendly and informative and helped me get the most out of the tour.

On this excursion, my friend and I had the most fun ever! We traveled a short distance outside of Phnom Penh and saw a wide variety of things for an excellent price. In contrast to other places we have seen in Asia so far, the wildlife refuge has well-kept animals. The guide planned a fantastic lunch in the style of Cambodia for us, and he was also quite knowledgable about the cuisine. Our tour guide was amiable and passionate. On our visit, we wished he could have taken us to more places!

I recently had the opportunity to visit the Phnom Tamoa Wildlife Sanctuary and it was truly an unforgettable experience. As an avid nature lover, I was thrilled to witness the diverse array of wildlife that call the sanctuary home. From elephants to tigers, gibbons, and an array of birds and reptiles, there was no shortage of fascinating creatures to observe. Yi, the tour guide, is incredibly knowledgeable about the wildlife and is always happy to share his insights and answer questions. One of the highlights of my visit was feeding deers with ..... bananas & cucumbers! Overall, I would highly recommend a Yi's tour to the Phnom Tamoa Wildlife Sanctuary. It's a must-see destination for anyone interested in nature, wildlife conservation, and sustainable tourism. It's an unforgettable destination that you won't want to miss!
