Siem Reaps mest unika, autentiska topprankade kvällsunderhållning. Phare-artister använder mer än bara en cirkus teater, musik, dans och modern cirkuskonst för att berätta unika kambodjanska historier; historiska, folkliga och moderna. De unga cirkusartisterna kommer att förvåna dig med sin energi, känslor, entusiasm och talang. Phare-artister är studenter och akademiker från Phare Ponleu Selpaks (www.phareps.org) yrkesutbildningscenter i Battambang. Föreningen bildades 1994 av 9 unga män som kom hem från ett flyktingläger efter regimen av Khmer Rouge. De fick mycket hjälp under den tiden av en konstlärare som använde ritklasser som terapi och ville dela denna nya färdighet bland de fattiga, socialt berövade och oroliga ungdomarna i Battambang. De grundade en konstskola och offentliga skolor följde för att erbjuda gratis utbildning. En musikskola och teaterskola var nästa och slutligen, för barnen som ville ha mer, cirkuskolan. Idag går över 1 200 elever varje dag på den offentliga skolan och 500 går på de alternativa skolorna. Phare Ponleu Selpak har också omfattande uppsökningsprogram som försöker hjälpa till med de problem som lyfts fram i deras egna berättelser. Phare The Cambodian Circus erbjuder dessa studenter och akademiker någonstans för att finslipa sina färdigheter och en plats att tjäna en anständig lön. Pengar som tar dem ur fattigdom och ger dem självrespekt och frihet.

A wonderful show A fantastic human adventure We had a great evening Extraordinary acrobats
Don't waste your money. For $38.00 instead take your family home for a nice dinner for 4 people. The show is not a real circus. Horrible acrobats. Most of the short one hour show you see them crowning around. There is only one acrobat doing all the acts. So lame. This is for people who never seen real acrobats from China and Russia. Not entertaining at sll. Left disappointed. Don't go .waste of money.

Such a wonderfully engaging evening. I’m not even a big fan of the circus but I couldn’t recommend this enough! Such a great cause too. The food onsite was delicious.

This was the fastest hour of my life. The circus show was so entertaining that the time flew by. The entire thing was so well done including the welcome from the performers with drums, jugglers and cheering. The food available pre-show, and the entertainment before the show is top notch and the food is inexpensive. Every seat in the big top is a good one and the quality of the show is fantastic. The best part is that seeing the show supports the mission of this program which is to give skills to underprivileged youth in order for them to have a better quality of life. It is win-win and feel good all the way around.

Astounding! Heading in we just assumed that it was just another circus performance. But tonight’s performance blew our mind, from start to finish it was so captivating left us on edge most of the show, it was just incredibly breathtaking. It educated us on how much rice is part of the Cambodian culture, & how Cambodian people eat live & breathe rice & community. We’re truly thankful that we got to experience the show. It’s great to see that although born into difficult circumstances the circus provides access to people to learn about different art forms free of cost! A great initiative!
