Res med jeep till Troodosbergen, med möjlighet att se skönheten i Cyperns vilda natur och besöka öns huvudsakliga helgedom - klostret Kykkos. På vägen till Troodos kommer vi att besöka Cyperns näst största damm - Asprokremos, och även en av de fyra broarna i den venetianska eran - Chelefos. Vi kommer att smaka på vinerna och besöka det vackra vattenfallet Chantara och på vägen tillbaka kommer vi att göra ett badstopp vid "Afrodites sten" där, enligt legenden, kärlekens och skönhetens gudinna föddes och gick i land.

Asprokremmos-dammen är den näst största dammen på Cypern. Den är byggd på en höjd av cirka 100 m över havet. Det anses vara ett viktigt våtmark för endemiska och flyttfåglar
Definitivt den mest kända bron på ön. Dess popularitet beror på att det är den största stenbron som någonsin byggts på Cypern och går över floden Diarizos. Finns i ett område med rik grön vegetation, skogsområdet som omsluter det är vackert och har olika naturfläckar att utforska.
Hantara vattenfallet fick sitt namn från ordet "anatra" som betyder "vattenbrus". Vattenfallets vatten faller våldsamt från en höjd av åtta meter som rullar över gavro, som är en av de viktigaste stenarna i området och bildar vid sin bas en liten damm. Beläget mitt på landsbygden är det omgivet av träd, plataner, murgröna, tallar, gyllene ekar, sumak, jordgubbar, cistus, salvia och lavendel, vilket ger gästerna underbara dofter.
Olympus, eller Chionistra, på 1952 meter, är Cyperns högsta punkt. En brittisk långdistansradar arbetar för närvarande vid Mount Olympus topp. På vintern hög risk för snö. Skidort i drift i januari, februari
Kykkos kloster är ett av Cyperns rikaste och mest kända kloster. Det heliga klostret för Jungfru av Kykkos grundades runt slutet av 1100-talet av den bysantinska kejsaren Alexios I Komnenos
Det är ett populärt resmål för dem som gillar hemlagat vin, promenader runt gamla gator, besök i traditionella lantliga hem som har förvandlats till museer och handlat original konst och hantverk (t.ex. silversmycken, glasföremål, spetsar, godis och berömda Arkatena kringlor). Byns huvudattraktion är True Cross Monastery, som rymmer en bit av True Cross tillsammans med andra reliker.

We saw a bunch of different sites which was neat. Tour guide gave us a decent amount of time to explore each site. I wish we had had more time to explore the beach at the end though — would’ve been nice to see the sunset til the end. The reason this tour gets 4 stars instead of 5 is bc the vehicle was not comfortable. It’s a jeep but the back is two long benches so you’re facing the other half of the group at all times. You basically bump around the back (though there are pipe things above so you can hold them) the whole time as well — it’s particularly rough on the off-road parts. There’s nowhere to lay your head if you want to doze between sites. Would be better if they had small buses or split us into actual jeeps or something.

All day trip in a 10 seat Land Cruiser. Interesting ,amusing driver/guide, Phil. Wonderful panoramic views. beautiful forest roads , twisty, rockstrewn tracks all handled with great skill .

Great day out and not too hard going if your fitness level is a bit low. We were taken to beautiful locations with rich history, good food and delicious wines! Was outside at the meeting point, one jeep came for another family from our hotel and told us we would be the next ones. Waited and waited but nothing came. As stated in the email, we called the jeep company as it was over 10 mins late. No answer from them. Called the tour operator who eventually got in contact with the jeep company. I was then told the jeep company messed up and we weren’t down on the list at all! We had waited outside for 45 mins to then be told no one was coming and we were offered a change of day or excursion to which I said no as we go home on Friday. To say I’m not happy would be an understatement. I have been told my refund will arrive in a few days but it doesn’t make up for the fact that we had booked this tour to explore with our children who are now extremely disappointed.

Great trip, bad communication by tour company. Delayed start as no name of the company collecting me was provided. After checking with several jeeps turning up at my hotel one driver helped by calling the third party tour company. After waiting 20 minutes past my collection time I was picked up and did have a very enjoyable day visiting lots of sites. One simply thing in providing the details of who I was waiting for would have helped get the day off to a much better start.

It was an alright trip overall. However, for my taste, we spent a bit too much time at places that seemed more like “partners” of the safari, such as the winery, the food stop, and the village. The dam was also a very mild start to the day, with not much to see. Also, be prepared for the jeep experience. While we saw several vehicles with regular forward-facing seats, ours had us sitting facing each other, which got a bit uncomfortable during the longer drives. The guide was friendly, but I didn’t feel like we experienced each stop to its fullest. After chatting with another couple, it turned out their tour included more interactive moments, like stopping at banana plantations, picking fruit, and learning fun facts. Compared to that, our tour felt like the bare minimum or just slightly above it.
