Absolutely amazing experience. We were successful in seeing humpback whales on the whales tour and the northern lights on the boat trip. The tour was well run and the crew were superb. Thanks to the team for the great experience. The waterproof overalls provided (included in the price) were very welcomed!

Very detailed explanation and entertainment at the microphone while waiting for northern lights and whales. Good experience but unfortunately we went twice on NL tour and we didn't see them.

Regarding the Northern Lights, unfortunately, it can happen that they do not appear. Our tours operate at times when, statistically, solar activity is higher and the chances are better; however, the Northern Lights are a natural phenomenon and remain entirely up to nature. For this reason, we offer a complimentary return ticket in case of no sightings, which has no expiration date, so we would be happy to welcome you back anytime in the future.
I travelled with my mum on what was truly a bucket list trip for us both, and it exceeded every expectation! We had the wonderful Kristoph as our guide — an absolute professional (the man can drive!). The Icelandic weather can be unpredictable, but Kristoph handled every challenge with confidence, making us all feel completely safe. His knowledge and stories added so much to the magic of Iceland — as if it needed more magic! The tour covered so many iconic locations, each one breathtaking. Our group was fantastic and punctual, which even allowed us to make a couple of bonus stops along the way. The glacier hike with Ivo was another highlight. He took excellent care of everyone, guiding us safely through some thrilling ice formations,an experience we'll never forget. I can’t recommend this tour highly enough. A huge thank you to Kristoph, Ivo, and the whole team for making this trip so special. It’s an experience my mum and I will treasure forever.
The tour was great...Saw loads of whales dolphins puffins etc...The boat and tour guides were excellent. Facilities on boat superb and good value. In all a fabulous day..The staff I spoke to were Joe and Lucas. They were both very polite knowledgeable and showed there obvious enthusiasm for the whales and environment etc..Very professional.....well done!!!
AMAZING! The 2 tours are split separately, my partner and I were collected outside of our hotel and driven to the harbour where we got on a boat and spent 2/3 hours watching for Whales and we saw maybe 2 or 3 humpbacks! The staff and captain were all super helpful and told us when and where to look for the whales, we were so very lucky to have seen multiple Humpbacks here in the port, literally minutes away from the city. Stunning views from the boat. Sold tea, coffee, hot chocolate and snacks. Was dropped off and re-collected 4 hours later to go back out for the northern lights tour. Once again we were blessed with clear skies and perfect weather conditions in January to see the most outstanding performance of the northern lights that I could have dreamed of. Coming away from Iceland feeling so overwhelmed with the beauty of this country!

Easy booking in and boarding process. Crew friendly and very knowledgeable. Commentator very funny and entertaining. The Captain knew exactly where to find the whales and wasted no time in providing magnificent viewing of the humpbacks. Not only was I able to get great video and photos, Special Tours also gives access to their content too (free of charge!). Northern Lights was cancelled due to poor visibility but was moved to the next evening with no fuss or charge. Not only did the tour go ahead the next night but I fulfilled my ambition of seeing the Northern Lights in the flesh.

Great tour. Can be split in half doesnt have to be doing both same day. Friendly knowledgeable staff. Great location on docs and saw both whales and the northern lights

This review is based on communications and information provided by the company. Unfortunately both the trips were cancelled due to extreme bad weather conditions. We were contacted by telephone & email well before both trips were due to depart and updated with probable cancellation. Offers of rescheduling and alternative trips given, however due to timescale we were unable to rebook. Full refund was received within 24 hours, without any problems whatsoever. On this basis I would trust the operator and booking process , and definitely try again for the trips in the future.
