Iquitos : Utforskning av vilda djur längs Rio Negro | Heldag

Beskrivning

We loved it! Amazing boat trip on the Amazon river. Our guide Max was very friendly and had a great knowledge of the jungle and its fauna and flora. A day full of experience. Highly recommend!
It was a very long day, mostly spent on boat and walking. Did not see much, mostly just a few birds flying along the river banks. Too much walking where it should have been possible to move via tuk-tuk, especially on the concrete walkway. There were a couple of operating tuk-tuks; the walk was over a half hour. Experience not exactly as described. Did not meet and interact with villagers, lunch was very late in the afternoon, transportation was shared with multiple tours, time spent waiting for other tour groups to join transportation. On the botanical walk, we did see one very large tree, but that was about it and it was very muddy! Do not recommend.
Is not what was described, I have contacted the owner and let him know. We waited just over an hour on a bus boat at the port to be taken to tour boat which was a large wooden canoe, if we were told this we would not have been shocked. No "lunch on board while sailing", but did have a lovely lunch at a lodge. No cultural visit to learn about traditions but we didn't mind. The word "dive" should not be used. After the shock of the boat we decided to enjoy ourselves and not call it quits and had a good guide and captain. Seen sloths, iguanas and birds. I would recommend if the description is re-written.
We boarded from the main port of Iquitos and from there it was already an experience. From the beginning our guide Dexter was explaining anything, history or curiosity about Iquitos, the rivers we sailed, its people, flora and fauna... After sailing we went into the jungle knowing a small town of locals in the Amazon. Going through the jungle Dexter was in charge of training us in the medical and therapeutic uses of each plant while looking for some animal to see. Finally we ate at the lodge they have and returned in a boat through the Amazon trying to bump into dolphins. It was a great day and we were very happy. It is not at all a massive activity, I loved this point. It is perfect to combine it if you also want to know the city of Iquitos or Belen market another day and you do not have so much time. A recommendation that you don’t go like us, bring mosquito repellent because when you go into the jungle there are many.
I paid for a full day experience however only received some of the experiences. I did not go to the jungle, did not see medicinal plants, did not go to the insectarium. THERE was no swimming pool as described. I think because I was the only one on the tour that was doing one day they did not want to spend the time on me since I was just one person. However that is not my problem. I paid for a full tour and should have received it. I was very disappointed to not go to the jungle. I was told I needed rubber boots which I took the time the night before to look for them in the store. Didn't need them and wasted my money. The only thing I did was see monkeys, boat down the Amazon and go Piranah fishing after the boat taxi driver picked up a lot of people on the way back down the river back to Iquitos. I wouldn't have gotten that had I not kept talking about it. I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED. What I did do I enjoyed but because thus tour company ripped me they got 2 stars. I don't even know to get a refund. I definitely deserve something.
