Meh……
I promised my kiddo a weekend of fun, so I planned to take her to the museum. Honest review is the staff were super sweet, but for two tickets at 126.00 including fees and 65.00 to park (after spending 20 minutes finding a parking spot), was a little steep.
we got into the “museum”, and there was not really much to it. It was incredibly crowded and even when our group waited about 10 minutes or so to go in and the. got the tutorial of the museum from one of the staff, the first room still had a giant line for a small trial size ice cream.
The rooms seemed thrown together and honestly felt run down and dirty. There wasn’t not much museum to it. No history of ice cream or really much interactive activities. The ones we did see we did not really want to touch or the pieces were missing.
The game room was cute and had lots of photo ops, but was just so busy and crowded, it was hard to get any good pictures. The lines for ice cream were insane, and basically took up the whole room.
The room before the sprinkle pool hands you a small scoop of one of I think four flavors of choice at the end of that room, but then you get right to the sprinkle room, where the staff instantly tell you that you can’t bring the ice cream in the pool area. That I saw there were no signs that you couldnt, but couldn’t even sit with it on the plastic bench style seats and watch your kid play in the pool. So myself along with others, were tossing their ice cream in the garbage can before entering the room.
The sprinkle pool was my daughters favorite, but it was pretty small and very crowded.you can’t wear shoes in the pool, which is obvious, but the edges of the pool were very slippery and kids kept slipping (including mine).
Overall, experience was meh. I may have been a little spoiled from my experience in the color factory, which was very interactive, treats, gifts, and amusing with cameras that take your picture for free and you get them emailed to you. The experience for the money was there.
This museum, not so much. I feel like we mostly walked out with a cold. Some pluses were nice staff, seeing how happy my kiddo was in the sprinkle pool, and keeping my promise to her to go there. The uniqueness of trying an ice cream hot dog was very interesting as well, and seems to be the claim to fame. I oddly enjoyed that experience. Mustard and relish on ice cream?!?! Who would have thought??
We will 💯 go to the color factory again and again over the museum of ice cream, but glad we did it.

Save your money and go to an ice-cream shop
My 10-year old grandson saw an ad for this place while watching a video on YouTube. We paid $39 each for entry. The entry process was seamless. The simulated train ride was just enough to get him more excited. The hot-dog ice-cream was odd but really good. We both agreed that the stations were a great idea. Unfortunately, the selections were predetermined, not patron selected. We thought there should have been more activities. The activities were not engaging for a 10-year old. We thought the experience was more geared toward ages 3-8. We were both very disappointed that all the ice-cream flavors listed were not part of the entry fee. We assumed that the ice-cream flavors listed on that big poster board, was what we would be able to experience, not having to pay addtional monies at the ice-cream bar. Overall, this experience fell short of what we hoped. The "ball pool" was not very big and was too crowded for him to move about freely and enjoy it. I would not recommend this "museum".

Not recommended
It’s for sure tourist trap. Few colourful rooms that probably will be interesting to 4-6 years old , few ice cream flavours ( the rest has to be purchased) . Not very clean ether , for example they have a hoop and few basketball balls that covered in sticky thing ( probably ice cream) . Also it’s super overpriced and kids under 16 can not go without adult. I first purchased 2 tickets for my teenagers but I had to purchase additional ticket for myself since they are under 16. You can be done in 15 min or less that’s how microscopic this place is . Not recommended, unless you have very little kids but still it’s to expensive and to short .

If you like infections and chaos this is for you!!
Oh god no. Dirty, expensive, way too crowded, mostly boring exhibits, terrible acoustics in rooms. Sprinkle pool ok but underwhelming. The cherry on top of our experience was no working sinks in the restrooms for handwashing! Puke!

Not worth it
Not worth the money. Not much to do. Ice cream wasn’t very good and very limited flavors. Had to pay extra for certain flavors.

Complete disappointment
We felt rushed the whole time. The ice cream ran out in some stations. The rooms were crowded and really couldn’t enjoy the very little experiences. I was deeply disappointed with this purchase

Great family fun especially for young children
Lots of fun for young kids. Some interesting history about ice cream although there could be much more. There could also be more samples.

If you have time to burn...
If you have time to burn with kids this is an ok activity. Expensive for what you get but the ice cream was good. This is a one and done activity.

Super Fun & Picture Worthy
My kids wanted to do this so badly. It was definitely pricey, but they had a blast & seeing their joy made the sting to the pocketbook a bit easier.
It’s basically one giant circle. You walk from room to room & can go through it as many times as you want. In each room you get samples of various ice creams. The serving sizes were plentiful! I started asking for less & didn’t eat most of mine. Some rooms were better decorated than others, but they were all super fun! Our kids especially loved the giant sprinkle pool at the end! In total we spent about 1.5 hours here & had a good time.

Your kids having a blast (and that giant sprinkle pool at the end!) sounds like exactly the kind of day Museum of Ice Cream is made for. The setup really does make it easy to bounce room to room, and I’m glad you found the samples plentiful—even after you started asking for less. Hope to see your crew back again soon!

Ice Scream, You Scream...it is all about the ice cream!
It was my birthday, so of course it made sense for this lactose intolerant person to visit a place all about frozen dairy products! :)
In all actuality, museum should be taken lightly as there is just a little education and history, a whole lot of Instagram worthy photo opportunities, a couple of holes of mini golf, a sprinkle (ball) pit, some fun loving staff, coupled with...you got it, ice cream to eat.
My family had a lot of fun, despite lots of kids hopped up on sugar the day we went. You start off getting some info from a guide while "riding the subway" and then you choose an ice cream name. Embrace the experience, get creative and take on your new persona. When you enter, you are dropped into a bar (some parents were thankful for the alcohol) and there is an ice cream shop with different flavors not available in the "museum" rooms, but all of this is additional cost. We saw several people asking and realizing it was extra. I do believe there is one flavor there that is included in the admission price.
As you scoot through the rooms, there are different themes and activities and some rooms have ice cream to eat. These are not just samples, but full size. Not sure how true, but someone said the record was someone consumed 54 scoops in one visit. I would literally die, but...if that is your thing, go for it! We were there for the Rainbow Cone's 100th anniversary which is awesome and now over, but don't fret...you can still get the Chicago special ice cream...hot dog flavored ice cream complete with bread bun, mustard, relish and celery seed. It "wasn't that bad", according to my husband. Oh and if you are like me and lactose intolerant, never fret...they have a few different choices for us. If you go and they have the cherry sorbet, I highly recommend it. It was hands down the top favorite flavor of everyone in our party and one of the only flavors we made room for seconds (or in one person's case...thirds)!
All in all, a good time. Definitely worth a visit, but for us it is a one and done.
