This is a self guided tour. No guide. No headphones unless you pay extra. You are able to watch and hear actual phone messages. Super sad.
Moving and breathtaking; I was in awe of it and spent 4 hours here reliving some memories, learning new things and witnessing heroic acts of my fellow Americans.
You need at least 2 hours to see most of the museum. I would recommend taking the guided tour. The guide set the mood for the tour.
This is a must do experience. The memorial is beautiful in itself, but the museum is another entire aspect. Our group enjoyed it, although it was incredibly emotional. It is a great way to honor all those that were lost on 9/11. The ticket includes a short film in their auditorium and the entire 4 floor museum. Our favorite exhibit was the one where photos are not allowed, it includes artifacts from the day and news reports, voicemails, etc. This is an emotional experience. Tissues are conveniently placed throughout the exhibits for that reason. That being said, it is a very important aspect of our history and a great way to honor all those lost on 9/11.
This is an incredible experience & I would encourage anyone in the area to go. It is very moving in certain areas, but it catches the very essence of it's existence, to pay tribute to all that lost their life during those horrendous attacks. This was my second time visiting & it had changed a fair bit. I would go again!
Today we visited the 9/11 memorial, a place I truly believe every American should visit. Might help you put your political views aside for a moment; at least, and remember how that day felt, where you were.. and the way our country came together. I'm proud to be an American. This is our country and I love her. The 9/11 memorial is powerful, heart wrenching, somber, but there's hope, perseverance, faith, community, hero's... everyday people who's world changed. So many heros rose and fell that day. I honor their sacrifice to the core of my being I hope we can all at least agree on that. We will never forget.
Massive exhibit. Overwhelming amount of information. Plan at least 2-3 hours to see everything. Take names of people you may have lost.
The tour operator never showed up at the appointed spot even 15 min after the start time. Didn't respond to my message either. Very disappointing. I deserve a refund of the service fees that I have been charged.
So powerfully emotional to walk through the memories of that day. But, yet, some surprising stories. Our entire family was struck by the 12 minute documentary of the boat evacuation. Do not miss it!
Excellent! So well done! If you lived through 9-11, whatever the age, it brings so many memories. Sobering! If you weren’t old enough to remember this day, it is worth the time to learn about important day in U.S. history. Be sure to pay extra for the audio tour.
