Interaktiv batikworkshop och lektioner i Sri Lanka

The most wonderful, traditional experience, learning Batik,in the hosts home. Such a fun and rewarding experience, came away with knowledge and skills to be able to continue my practice at home. Also bought some beautiful hand painted and batik dresses, designed and created by the host, she is truly a skilled and talented artist. I was treated to delicious sandwiches, ginger tea and sweets and left with my beautiful batik piece, feeling like a part of the family. This is a must do, for any one interested in batik, while visiting Kandy .

The knowledge & talent they shared was just brilliant. Such patients, talking you through each step of the process to create your own peice of art, to take away with you. I loved it, the best part of my Sri Lanka journey so far. I would highly recommend!! Thank you, once again.

Fantastic experience, really relaxing and something different from the a usual holiday activities. We were looked after throughout the morning and made some lovely creations which we could take home. I’d definitely recommend.

Wonderful time with Manugi and her mom! We were hosted like family and had a blast learning about this ancient (tedious) art. It is always special to share a moment trough skills. I had such a pleasant experience learning batik with Anuja and her children. Anuja was very patient and took me through the steps very gracefully and gently. I learned a lot about how to do batik and I got to take the piece that I made back home too! Truly a hidden gem in Kandy.

It was an amazing experience! We had an amazing time with the host family. The workshop itself was very educative and interactive. We made some interesting designs on a piece of clothing and later on made it in a bag that can be used for different things. Thank you very much, hope to see you again soon!

Had such an amazing time at the interactive batik workshop! Was fascinating to see how the process works and get involved with each step along the way. The mother and daughter partnership were great teachers and really enjoyed chatting to get a deeper insight into the amazing Sri Lanka culture. The process itself was incredibly relaxing and felt like a form of meditation, with the peaceful setting of the workshop only hearing birds chirping overhead adding to the experience. Could not recommend more to anyone trying to fill their creative urges in Sri Lanka, you get to take the bag home with you too which is the best souvenir possible. Thank you so much for our best experience so far in this beautiful country :)

We had had a lovely morning learning the Batik process. Each step was explained and demonstrated really well which made it easy to follow. The family lovely and a lot of hard work went into the morning. We made a great bag that will be a great memory of Sri Lanka. It was 4 hours long which seemed a bit long at times but it is needed for the process to be completed. It could be possibly to create a smaller bag/pencil case in a shorter amount of time. Would highly recommend!
