Vänligen anländ till Riverfront tågstation som ligger på 108 1st Avenue South 15 minuter före avgångstiden. Besök platser i närheten av där nordstatsarmén och sydstatsarmén stred och hör berättelser från din kunniga Guide om slaget vid Franklin, som utkämpades den 30 november 1864 och som av många är känt som inbördeskrigets fem blodigaste timmar.
Stanna vid Carter House, som ligger i centrum av unionens position under striden. Huset och dess yttre byggnader visar fortfarande hundratals kulahål.
Därefter kan du njuta av ledig tid i den pittoreska staden Franklin för att shoppa, äta (egen kostnad) och se andra historiska platser. Du kommer då att resa till Carnton Plantation, beordrade att vara ett Confederate fält sjukhus av en sydlig general och sedan gjort ett evigt minnesmärke för de konfedererade soldaterna av husets älskarinna. I Lotz-huset, som blev ett sjukhus efter slaget, ser kanonbollhål och blodfläckar på golv och väggar, som vittnar om den skrämmande naturen i denna fasansfulla konflikt. Be preparwd to stand in very hot conditions if you go in the summer. It was worth it! The proctors were very knowledgeable and entertaining.
This tour was one of the best historical tours we have taken! The civil war bullet holes were still present on the outbuildings of the homes we toured. All of the tour guides had strong story telling ability and passion to retell the events that occurred on the out skirts of Nashville.The blood stains from the battlefield were still present in the wood floors of each home. The tour is by far better than any history book version!

Roger the tour guide was awesome. Tour was awesome. 10/10 However I have done 2 yours and the air conditioning on the buses is awful. It’s gets super hot on the rides and definitely hurts the overall experience.

Touring this area of Franklin gave a unique and deeply human perspective on the Civil War. Tennessee was at the crossroads of the conflict and no where represents that more than Franklin where communities and even families were divided. Touring these sites is somber as you learn about the soldiers, slaves, and civilians that were forever changed by the terrible night that was the Battle of Franklin. While a heavy topic, it is an important piece of history in understanding the Civil War.
This was a really excellent tour, with an informative and helpful driver, and well planned timings at each stop. The tour guides at each stop were excellent, providing vivid and detailed historical information which really brought the past to life.
The tour was a bit redundant. Each stop talked about the same thing. I would have just enjoyed stop one to Canton and had more time to explore the property. We didn’t get to see everything there.
