Went with my family and they love the lagoon! The cenotes were nice to see, only my kids went in and my husband and me stayed out relaxing We booked this for the breakfast and lunch, we wouldn't have last without them haha Long trip, bring a pillow for the ride
We are happy that you got the chance to experience Chichen Itza The Mayan culture is rich in traditions, we hope to welcome you again soon!
Chichen Itza was great, wish we could have spent more time there. We arrived at the cenote at dark, and didn’t have much time there but it was beautiful nonetheless.
Due to the season the traffic makes the tour last longer, thank you for sharing this experience with us We hope to welcome you again soon!
TLDR, dont bother! Get a bus or hire a car. We were over an hour late setting off. Spent significantly more time getting the hard sell from the Mayan rest stop shop and guide than we did at the actual Chitchen itza site. The food was so bad that one kid spent the rest of the trip vomiting (likely the cold rice we were served). Due to the delays what was advertised as a 6+ hour trip, became, as requested turning up at 9.30am and being told we are hopefully going to be home by 7.30pm. If everyone manages to escape the gauntlet of shops between the bus park and Cenote on the way home. A number of people, us included have onward connections and or commitments to meet tonight (its new years eve) we have all expressed our concerns. To no avail. One person was told there are rooms at the Cenote if he is that worried about making his connection!
There was no hour delay, it was a 30 minute delay at most. The stop at the Mayan Village was for 15 minutes just so everyone can have a bathroom break There was no report from any customer or guide regarding a person vomiting, there was no such kid as you claim There is no mention anywhere in the description that the tour would be 6 hours, it was always advertised as a full day tour. Anyone could look at the product right now or in the future, it will always be a full day tour of 12 hours + traffic time You make having vendors around look like an odisey, you just have to say no as any polite person would and keep walking or looking around. It's not an escape, it's just a tour Again, there was no complaint from anyone in the group other than your self This tour was always meant to be full day, it was your own responsability to make good choices in regards schedules If you knew that you have a big commitment, it was your choice to book a full day tour We strongly advice to make reading a habit
Basically we booked this trip because we wanted the most time we could find in Chinchen Itza, 3 hours, and for the fact that the lunch would be after Chinchen Itza and not waste time in hugely overpriced stores only areas. (Usually people take more time than they it is scheduled, this shortening the visitation of the rest of the tour. Plus it's uncomfortable to go on a full stomach in extremely high weather) First we stopped at the lunch place, not Chinchen Itza. The lunch place I believe it's the "Mayan village", but I could be wrong, all the other tours offer. Basically a big store with multiple vendors that sell extraordinarly overpriced local/Mexican goods, and a restaurant on the side where you eat after 20-30 min of "shopping time". Then we went to Chinchen Itza where they said we have 2 hours of visiting, not 3. By the time we got there, we had like 1:45h. Then we went to Xenote Selva Maya, not to Xenote, where we spent an hour. And last we went to Valladolid, where we spent 30m Presentation: 1.Chichen Itza 3h 2.Valladolid 45m 3. Xenote Saamal 1h ( including meal) Reality: 1.Store area and after meal (I don't remember the time spent there) 2.Chichen Itza 1h 45m 3.Xenote Saamal 1h 4.Valladolid 30m Overall the staff was relatively friendly,so ok, the Chinchen Itza guide was very nice and knowledgeable. Inside they did try to sell things, but it.s a normal thing in these types of tours. If you feel uncomfortable, you can say no and they won't push. Schedule: 0/10 Time: 1/10 Staff: 9/10 Enjoyment: 9/10
It's important to read the content of the description properly There is no mention about 3 hours at Chichen Itza, there is no mentioned about going to Xenotes and Selva Maya is the name of the place that surrounds the Cenote Saamal The itinerary depends on the amount of people at Chichen in order to avoid overcrowding
Well maintained and clean bus. Great guide at Chichen Itza. Cenote was very crowded and rushed. More time waiting for changing room than in the water. Get a locker as you wont be able to take your personal items with you to the Cenote platform. No need for mask in this one. Water is dark. While only for a few minutes, the cenote was a nice experience. Be aware the tour guide will invite you for other purchases on the bus. In particular, they will take a welcome photo of you and it later appears on a souvenir for purchase. Its a light pressure sale and “no thank you” is well received. Some of stops are clearly just for fast shopping. Our family’s perspective is the time would have been better spent at the cenote.
We are glad to know that you like the tour, and we appreciate the comments. We'll take note on everything in order to improve the experience We hope to see you again to show you how much we have gotten better
We really appreciated everything they did to accommodate us. They were very communicative. We would recommend them.
It's important for us to communicate as clear and prompt as possible to our travelers. Thank you for the kind words and recommendations! We hope to have another chance to take you into another adventure
We loved our trip to Chichen Itza and the great people we were with! They picked us up on time at our hotel, and we were very comfortable in the bus (since it was such a long drive) Our tour guide spoke in English and Spanish, which I appreciated. He was funny and very knowledgeable. I felt safe and protected the whole time. We had plenty of time to explore Chichen Itza. We went to a cenote as well (so cool!) but didn't have a ton of time for that. We also got to shop in a couple of places, but not a ton of time for that. The bus did not have ports to charge your phone, which would've made it even better. It was so fun to explore different parts of Mexico and do it safely. Definitely recommend!
We are happy to know that you loved your Mayan Adventure with the staff and the people at the tour. Chichen Itza is indeed one of the wonders of the world We'll work into improving the bus and the times, so there can be enough time for everyone to enjoy
