First of all, we got a bit modified trip. It was our second trip with Connect Travel (we were very happy with the first trip to DMZ and Phong Nha Cave). We asked to make a bit more personal trip and combined the trip around Hue with a transfer to Hoi An. Seeing Hue was an extraordinary trip thanks to our guide Hoa. She is a historical guide so she shared many facts and information about her country with us, and she knew how to do it in an interesting way so we still had lots of fun while learning. Her English was very good and we didn't struggle with understanding, which was a key aspect. Without her guidance we would be quite lost and would only focus on views with no insight. Not to mention that it is very comfortable to have someone drive us around and organise everything. The trip was very flexible and we got as much time as needed at every spot. Hoa had also lots of experience with taking pictures and she showed us the best spots. All the entrance fees were already included in the total price for the trip. And since we visited in December, there were not that many people so we could enjoy the sightseeing without any burdens. Thanks to that we could truly feel like we were back in time while seeing the tombs. We had at our disposal a comfortable, new air-conditioned car and got delicious sandwiches and water for lunch. It is worth mentioning that the driver deserves praise - he drove prudently and safely. And in Vietnam it is a skill! On a personal note, we enjoyed the Tomb of Khai Dinh King the most, it really leaves an impression. It would be a shame to miss the tour and learn so much about Hue, so we fully recommend the trip! And thank you Connect Travel for the professional service and unforgettable day!
Good value tour. Lots of sites visited. Weather wasn’t so good to us, but it was the rainy season, so couldn’t really complain. This tour is probably not ideal for someone who has back issues, which was the case with my husband. He had to sit in the van for some of the places visited because of all the walking and lots of steps to climb. Tour guide was wonderful and very understanding. Think his name was Van Ling , if that’s how you say it.
The guide was friendly and prepared, but he totally miss that we were a group of western people that doesn't know vietnamese culture. First, it was asked to be ready at 7:30 and the guide picked us up at 8:30. When we stopped at the market he just left us walking around for "our shopping", he didn't even try to spend 5 minutes explaining peculiar / tipical things that you can find in Vietnam. If you are not interested in a shopping session this is an half an hour waste of time. During the lunch we had a typical meal: very interesting and I was pleasantly surprised that they booked for us a nice place (Madam Thu, ndr). The downside in this moment was that the waiter had to explain us the food and how to eat it, while he was outside doing his business at the phone. Generally speaking he could explain us tons of thing where we passed by: architecture was explained 0, society aspects 0, history just some stories about the emperors.
Thank you for your feedback. We'll learn from experience and improve our services everyday, to provide tourists with better tours. Regards, Connect Travel Team
