När du går in i museet, är den första skärmen du kommer att stöta på den fantastiska videon, "Living Landscape." Den 13 meter långa delen består av original filmklipp och fotografier som skildrar det rika judiska livet som fanns i Europa före andra världskriget. Hundratals artefakter, fotografier, dokument, videotillstånd och konstverk visas på alla 9 muse gallerierna. Ljudguiden kommer att erbjuda insikter i de enskilda berättelserna om offren - och de överlevande - av förintelsen som ligger bakom dessa skärmar. Vid museets stängning ligger den monumentala Hall of Names. När du kommer in i cirkulationshallen ser du en 10 meter hög övre kupol där bilderna på 600 män, kvinnor och barn visas. När du tittar ner ser du bilderna som återspeglas nedan i en pool med vatten grävde djupt in i berggrunden. Turnén slutar med en fantastisk panoramautsikt över det moderna Jerusalem, vilket ger dig ett ögonblick att reflektera över ditt besök på Mount of Remembrance. Rekommenderad turtid är 1,5 - 4 timmar.

Very moving, very beautiful testimonies and period photos that touch the heart. The duty of memory is here and not elsewhere.
Be prepared for some hard truths, but important ones. Everyone should know this history and share it.

Yad Vashem is a memorial to the Holocaust that claimed the lives of six million European Jews. Yas Vashem is a graphic series of displays which bring the attention of visitors back to history, which can never be forgotten. Inspecting Yad Vashem takes several hours, it's a return to Hitler's Germany.
Yad Vashem is a memorial to those Jews who perished in the Holocaust and those who resisted the Nazi regime. It also commemorates the Righteous Among the Gentiles, those non-Jews who risked their lives to save their neighbors. Yad Vashem is a humbling experience. Only the Western Wall has more visitors. Yad Vashem should not be missed. Entry is free.
This is a superb museum of Holocaust material and exhibitions. My wife and I spent 6 hours reading and viewing the material. We could have stayed for 2 full days. The video presentations were excellent. We also viewed the art museum but did not have enough time to complete it. We will definitely return.
Impressive, frightening and confronting. You'll be taken on the whole Holocaust journey. In the end too much for me.

Designed by architect Moshe Safdie The Holocaust (1933–1945) was the systematic, state-sponsored persecution and murder of six million European Jews by the Nazi German regime and its allies. This museum manages to make clear and precise what anti-Semitic hatred was.
Plan on spending the day. So personal. Unspeakably sad, but so necessary to see. Listening to the stories from the people who lived through them left me emotionally drained. I have seen the Holocaust memorial in Washington DC and this is much more powerful.
