Alhambra, som ligger på Sabica-kullen, är en andalusisk palatinsk stad. Namnet kommer från den rödaktiga färgen på dess väggar och kommer från leran i själva landet (Al-Hamra på arabiska). Det bildas av en grupp palats, trädgårdar och fästning där det fanns en citadell i staden Granada själv, dess huvudsakliga funktion var att tjäna som boende för monarken och domstolen i Nasrid Kingdom of Granada. Det finns också kristna bosättningar, såsom palatset av Charles V och kyrkan Santa Maria, byggd ovanpå den gamla moskén. Det är ett av de mest besökta monumenten i Spanien och förklarades som världsarv 1984. Njut av besöket med en officiell guide.
Alcazaba är den äldsta delen av Alhambra, från arabiska: القصبة al-qaṣbah (citadellet) var en befäst stadsdel av stadskaraktär, vars funktion var att tjäna som kunglig bostad för Mohamed I tills palatserna var färdiga, därifrån dess funktion var rent militär.
Nasrid palats, är ett palatskomplex i Alhambra i Granada som bildas av två oberoende palats, palatset av Comares och lejonet, och bilagor, Mexuar, dess konstruktion går från den första tredjedel av det fjortonde århundradet. Alcázar eller "Qasr al-Sultán" var palatsområdet i Alhambra, kärnan i kungariket Nasrid. På detta område var sultanerna bosatta, förutom att ta emot en publik, avlägsna regeringens angelägenheter eller hantera domstolens administration.
Carlos Vs palats är en renässanskonstruktion av arkitekten Pedro Machuca. Palatset är unikt i sin stil och bildar en fyrkant med en cirkulär innergård inskriven. Det är det spanska renässans mest framstående verk.
Generalife är villan med trädgårdar som används av de muslimska kungarna i Granada som en plats för reträtt och vila. Den var tänkt som en lantlig villa, där dekorativa trädgårdar, fruktträdgårdar och arkitektur integrerades i närheten av Alhambra. Namnet vi ger till Generalife-komplexet betyder bokstavligen Yannat al-Arif: "Arkitektens trädgård", en hänvisning till trädgårdarna och fruktträdgårdarna som levererade frukt och grönsaker till Nasrid-domstolen. Slottet till vilket vi är på väg, utformat som en viloplats för monarken, var dock vad poeten Ibn al-Jayyab kallade "lyckens kungliga hus".
El Partal integrerar arkeologiska och arkitektoniska rester som motsvarar palatinrum. Namnet på arabiska betyder portik och hänvisar till resterna av bostaden av Sultan Muhammad III, den nordligaste och äldsta. I dessa trädgårdar kan du se resterna av flera palats, eftersom detta område beboddes av den muslimska adeln. Det viktigaste var Palace of Yusuf III, med en planritning som liknar Palace of Comares, som tyvärr rivits under 1700-talet. Partal Gardens är en otrolig plats att promenera eller stoppa under ditt besök i Alhambra i Granada.

We expected more structure, details and interesting facts during this tour. The information was presented in a kind of semi random fashion. No supplemental materials (maps, floor plans, timeline diagrams were used). The guide was pretty unenthusiastic and just led us trhough Generalife, palaces and fortress with ability to take quick selfies. We expected much more especially after our free walking tour of the city that has offered all of the above.

Take a local bus from Granada town to the meeting point. Alhambra is on the top of the hill and the route is really steep. Nasrid palace is absolute gem so book it with the tour. Wear comfortable shoes as the tour lasts 3 hours.

I wish to warn all travelers about this agency. Their website is structured to appear among the top results on search engines, misleading users and effectively posing as the official channel. I purchased tickets for the Alhambra only to discover afterward that the price they charged is four times higher than the actual cost from the official vendor (Patronato de la Alhambra y Generalife). Once on site, speaking with the staff at the official ticket office, I confirmed that I am not at all the first to fall into this trap and that the situation is unfortunately well known to everyone locally. I find it scandalous that these platforms are allowed to profit in this way by speculating on tourists' misinformation. If you want to visit the Alhambra, make sure to purchase only and exclusively from the official website of the Patronato to avoid this enormous unjustified extra expense. Stay away from it.

Not for people with walking disability. The organization is poor. Backwards and forwards. People sending you one way and then another. Not very friendly or helpful staff either. Poor signage when we saw any. Sandra, our guide was excellent
