Avgår Auckland vid 07:00, du kommer att ta en trevlig bil söderut över Bombay Hills till det rika mejeriproduktet i Waikato och sedan vända East. Ett kort stopp vid en förhöjd utsikt över Haurakis slätter, med Kaimai Coromandel-avståndet i avstånd, gör ett bra gruppfoto.
Det är allt vanligt att hyra över slätten genom jordbruksmark till en nedlagd mjölkfabrik för en kaffe / te paus. Bara några minuter ner på vägen är informationscentret vid Matamata, som liknar ett hobbithus. Här kan du slå en ställning med statyn av Gollum.
Inte långt nu till Hobbiton, där din lokala guide kommer att eskortera dig runt filmuppsättningen, som innehåller 44 hobbithål, Bilbos hus - Bag End, Molen och dubbelbågsbroen och festträet. Vid Waitomo under din guidade 45 minuters tur genom grottan kommer du att vara medveten om konstellationerna av små lysande glödande maskar, det är en magnifik katedral och spännande stalagmiter och stalaktiter, innan du kommer från denna kalkstengrotta med båt.

I booked the Hobbiton & Waitomo Caves Day Tour from Auckland and it was an amazing experience. Hobbiton was magical, and the glowworms in Waitomo were truly unforgettable. Our driver-guide was excellent and made the trip smooth and enjoyable. Highly recommend!

We were thoroughly entertained by our guide Danilo as we wandered around Hobiton. The village itself is an amazing example of imagination and ingenuity. I really loved this place which captured the feeling and tone of scenes from the movies. The video messages seen in the bus to and from really introduced the fondness Jackson has for his country. Well worth the visit.
A great tour would advise everyone to visit this place it is a great day out also called at rotarua hot spring where the meal was cooked in front of you by a moaria lady
Keith was on time to pick us up from our hotel. We were quickly on our way to the attractions that we were interested seeing. We traveled in his Jaguar which was comfortable and pleasant. Keith told us about the areas we drove through, but left the information on Hobbiton and Waitomo to the local guides. I thought we were going to be in a small group tour with others and commentary on where we were going and what we would see, so I was surprised that it was just the two of us with a private driver, not really a tour. We have no complaints about the day, we just were expecting something different. We would recommend Keith to anyone who wanted a private driver. He was kind, courteous, thoughtful and professional. Just be aware of what you are reserving.
