Ta ett steg tillbaka i tiden med denna fascinerande rundtur i den historiska staden Malacka. Staden Malacca är en UNESCO: s världsarvslista. Malacka grundades 1400 och var en gång en av de största handelshamnarna i Sydostasien. Med starka portugisiska, holländska och brittiska influenser har Malacca nu ett rikt arv och en unik blandning av arkitektoniska stilar. Besök gatan Harmony där du kan se det äldsta kinesiska templet och hinduiska templet i Malaysia. Gå genom ruinerna av St Paul's Church där St Francis Xavier en gång begravdes. River Cruise från Taman Rempah Jetty, kryssningen kommer att stanna vid Flor De La Mar Jetty där kryssningen slutar. (Flower of the Sea) är en kopia av originalet som gick förlorat utanför Sumatras kust och sjönk år 1511. byggt 1502 i Lissabon och ett av tidens finaste fartyg. Malacka är olik allt annat och du vill inte missa ett besök i denna fantastiska, historiska stad.

Enligt malaysisk historia resulterade sultanens äktenskap med kejsarens dotter i en dramatisk tillströmning av kinesiska bosättare eftersom när prinsessan kom tog hon med sig ett stort följe som inkluderade 500 tjänarinnor. Ming-bruden etablerade sig på Bukit Kina tillsammans med sitt stora följe och kullen har varit ett kinesiskt dominerat område sedan dess.
Byggt mellan 1660 och 1700, ljusa terrakottaröda koloniala holländska byggnader med jalusifönster och tjocka dörrar med gångjärn i smide. Stadthuys inuti är vackert med vita, monumentala trappor och höga fönster. Det ser ut som en typisk holländsk kommunal byggnad från 1600-talet.
Exteriören är mestadels ruiner och liknar portugisisk arkitektur. En liten asfalterad stig är utskuren på kullens topp som leder besökarna in i kyrkoruinen. Kyrkan är tillägnad aposteln Paulus och du kommer att se hans staty målad i vitt.
Christ Church byggdes 1753 för att fira ett sekel av holländsk ockupation. Exteriör är omedelbart igenkännlig tegelröd byggnad med ett enormt vitt kors på toppen. Det inre av katedralen har 200 år gamla handgjorda bänkar, dekorativa fläktljus och farsoter som hedrar holländska soldater och lokalbefolkningen. När britterna tog över Malacka lade de till en väderhane och klocka till Christ Church och förvandlade den från en protestantisk kyrka till en anglikansk.
Peterskyrkan är den äldsta operativa katolska kyrkan i Malaysia. Den byggdes 1710 på mark som donerats av holländaren Maryber Franz Amboer. Det äldsta föremålet i kyrkan är klockan, tillverkad i Goa 1908.
Den äldsta buddhistiska platsen för tillbedjan i landet, byggd 1646 och är känd som "Merciful Cloud Temple". Templet är tillägnat Kuan Yin, barmhärtighetens gudinna. En svart, guld- och rödklädd staty av gudinnan står i den centrala bönesalen.
I början av 1930-talet tillät den brittiske invånaren, på begäran av en fransk missionär, etableringen av en fiskeby med träkojor på ett område med sumpig mark bredvid havet. Den hette ursprungligen St.John's Village och blev en bastion för dem med portugisiska anor för att bevara sin religion, språk, kultur och traditioner. Idag består bosättningen, ibland kallad Mini Lissabon, av gator med namn som D'Alberquerque, Sequera Eredia, D'Aranjo och Texeira.

We really enjoyed the day to Malacca because the Tour Guide Ben was very knowledgeable and kindness. We did see a lot historical buildings. Especially the River cruise was wonderful. The lunch was fantastic!

It was a great day out of busy KL. Nice drive to and from with a friendly driver. We went by car with only 4 passengers so it was a nice day. Worth having a look at this historical city.

<p>We loved our tour to Melaka. Viator was easy to book and e-vouchers makes the entire process easy. Also appreciate the courtesy hotel pickup n drop off. <br/> Stephen our tour guide was marvellous, an articulate storyteller. He was there to assist and without being intrusive.</p>
<p>This Malacca tour would have been an ideal one with an eager beaver for a tour guide with the name Gunar so with the driver also named gunar. we were picked up from our hotel at 8:45am as appointed for a 930 am departure for Malacca. there were 4 passengers then we went to pick up the rest from other hotels on the way to MATIC. we waited until 9:45am before we were told to be patient and wait for another couple who were late. the bus finally left MATIC at 10:15am to pick up 2 more passengers from the same hotel we stayed, where we were picked up at 8:45am. there are suppose to be 6 pax from our hotel but the pick up team never bothered to look for the 2 more passengers who were still taking their breakfast that caused the more than an hour delay by going back to pick them up at the hotel so the tour group can proceed to Malacca. We arrived in Malacca past 12 noon and we were rushed from one place to another to make up for the lost time. We finally had lunch at a local Chinese restaurant at past 2pm. after lunch, we were left at Jonker walk to take a stroll. then we went back to KL. while I was getting off the bus, the driver suddenly stepped on the bus accelarator that caused me to almost fell out of the bus. It's a good thing that my son as always extended his hands to help me descend from the bus and caught me. the tour guide nor the driver did not even bother to ask if i was ok but they just left. The pick up bus was nice but the tour bus used to go to Malacca was rickety and can hear all the engine noise instead of the tour guide's voice as we travelled and the seats are not comfortable. The tour guide forgot to mention the important informations about the places we went to it's a good thing, our tour guide/driver to Putrajaya the day before gave us a very good historical insights about Malacca maybe due to the complaints of the other passengers who were hungry and kept on buying food as the tour guide was chattering. The worst was I almost fell from the bus as I was getting off due to recklessness of the driver and they even saw i was using a walking stick that day due to a bad back. i hope viator will not engage the services of said tour company with rude employees and have a policy regarding late passengers.</p>

<p>Lovely trip wasted by the fact the guide would only allow us to visit the sites that he thought we should visit. He was not pleased when we asked to stop at an antiques stall and hurried us along to the next shop where he could buy the produce that he thought we should buy. If you advertise an English guide provide one! Not someone who thinks they speak English. We found ourselves apologising to other travellers when they asked us to translate what he was saying!</p>
<p>Big dissapointment for us. Pick up 20 min late, after 2 hours travelling from KL we expected much more. Most of the time in the bus, just short stops no real chance to explore and no walking on jonker street despite it was written in itinerary. Unfortunately wasting of day.</p>
<p>The place is worth the trip! But the guide was always in a hurry. The bus trip and lunch was longer than the actual trip to the place.</p>
<p>A little disorganized during departure. We were picked up more than an hour before departure. We departed 20minutes late. We visited lots of interesting sites. No time to linger at any spot. Tour guide was attentative. Answered all questions. Was not taken to traditonal Malacca restaurant.</p>
<p>A great day out of the hustle and bustle of KL taking in some of the history of Malaysia and its people.</p>
