Hardik, the company executive, and the driver met us at the airport and took us to our hotel our first night. He was very professional and provided us with a full printed itinerary with names and phone numbers. We booked directly with Walk and Explore, but had to pay in cash because they were not able to take credit cards. We had an excellent tour of Amritsar with a great guide Vivek and driver Monty. Monty was also our driver to Daramshala where we were met with our wonderful local guide Vikram. Spice Airlines cancelled our flight from Daramshala so we needed to return to Amritsar. Our regular driver had already left, but a new driver was located and the was on New Year’s Day! We would definitely recommend Walk and Explore.

My experience with the Heritage Amritsar & Spritual Dharamshala 4 Days Guided Tour was remarkable. From the convenience of getting around from place to place with a dedicated driver to the incredibly knowledgeable local guides that are with you at every step of the way, I felt like this was a perfect way to experience a slice of life in Amritsar and Dharamshala. Both my guide in Amritsar (Deepak) and my guide in Dharamshala (Sonu) were some of the best local guides I have had throughout my entire trip in northern India. They were both deeply knowledgeable about the history of their towns and were able to answer any of my questions about the area. Overall, I would highly recommend booking this experience as it allowed me to explore and learn about these cities in a stress-free and enjoyable manner.

The tour is an excellent tour and includes the highlights of Amritsar (Golden Temple & Wagar Gate) and Dharamshala/McLeodganj (Flag Hill, Dalai Lama's temple, the cricket grounds, tea gardens, several other temples and museums) Prarit was our guide in Amritsar. He is enthusiatic and very knowledge about the area. The drive to Dharamshala is a slow drive at present. There are over 50km of roadworks and construction and they are very slow to drive through. The law only requires cars to have safety belts in the front, but I feel safety belts should be available back and front for the safety of all passengers. We had a local guide in Dharamshala. He knew the area well. Not as enthusiastic as Prarit but very knowledgeable. McLeodganj and Dharamshala are extremely interesting and attractive places to visit. Very different to the big cities of India. The scenery is amazing. The roads are narrow, windy and slow to travel around, so allow plenty of time to get around, particularly in the busy tourist season when traffic would be very chaotic

Starting in Amritsar, we explored the Golden Temple and Jallianwala Bagh, with a knowledgeable guide who made history come alive. The authentic Amritsari food added to the experience. Then, we traveled to Dharamshala, where the stunning landscapes and peaceful Tibetan monasteries offered a perfect escape. The tour was well-organized, with comfortable accommodations and a balanced pace that allowed us to fully enjoy the rich culture and spirituality of both locations. This was truly the best experience and group of people that I've encountered in all of my travels. I needed a lot of help to make arrangements due to limited time in my schedule and got expert assistance in my advance planning. The tour guides and driver in each location are locals and have a strong background and knowledge in the community and culture of the area. I was truly impressed by their care, concern, and follow through in helping me meet my needs during my trip and transitions to each location throughout the country.
