Ett av de viktigaste monumenten för ortodox arkitektur, detta kloster byggdes 1840. En fridfull plats omgiven av en skog, en hel by endast för nunnorna. Kyrkans inre var snyggt renoverad, trädgårdar är välskötta av nunnorna. Här kan du också hitta ett fragment av det heliga korset.
Byggt runt 1408 i bysantinsk arkitektur med rumänska intryck, ligger detta kloster på en liten ö i norra delen av sjön Snagov. Under sin regeringstid lade Vlad Tepes till fler förbättringar av klostret inklusive en befäst stenmur och den smala bron till fastlandet som används av besökare i dag. En av den tidens viktiga forskare, Antim Ivireanul publicerade här de första rumänska böckerna med de latinska bokstäverna. Vissa historiker uppger att efter hans lönnmord i den förrädiska handlingen av sina bojarer i slaget vid Codrii Vlasiei (Vlasias skogar) i närheten av Snagov, fördes kroppen av Vlad Tepes Dracula till klostret och begravdes i hemlighet i den ortodoxa traditionen. Nuförtiden kan besökare av Snagov-klostret se gravbegravningsstenen lägga sig framför altaret som sägs vara Draculas viloplats under dagtid.

We had such a great time with our guide Tony. He is extremely knowledgeable and provided a lot of interesting facts about Romania in general as well as the Monestaries we visited. I particularly was very interested in the transition of Romania from Communism to being a Democratic government and he answered all my questions. Tony speaks English very well and is an excellent and careful driver. He does other types of tours as well. Both my friend and I would highly recommend hiring him to see the sights around the country.

My partner and I had an excellent experience with Toni! He was very knowledgeable, courteous, prompt, and patient. He arrived at our hotel right on time and the drive to each monastery was very smooth. We learned so much about each point of interest and Toni was eager to answer all of our questions. Fabulous day with an incredible host. Toni was the perfect guide - he was: communicative in arranging pickup; exceptionally organized; considerate of our needs; and, provided the right amount of history. a wonderful informative tour with Toni, who was the best!! a great way to spend the day seeing and experiencing beautiful monasteries and a palace! definitely recommend as a day trip to get out of the city and see villages, monks, nuns, and brides at the palace.

Our guide Toni contacted us the day before the trip to confirm the trip time and pick up point. He collected us on time. His car was modern, comfortable, clean and airconditioned, it was a hot day. He proved to be a knowledgeable guide taking us through the 3 monasteries and a palace at our own pace while explaining their histories. The whole trip took just over 4 hours. We enjoyed the trip very much.
