Mt Takao är den mest populära klätterplatsen i Kanto-området, som ligger cirka 50 kilometer väster om stadens centrum. Det är ett underbart berg som inkluderades i Michelin Green Guide Japan 2007, tillsammans med Mt Fuji. Hotellet är en del av nationalparken Meiji no Mori Takao och erbjuder bergsvandring i lugn och ro som passar även för en dagsutflykt. Berget har varit särskilt viktigt för Japanska sedan 744, då kejsar Shomu beordrade skapandet av Yakushiji, ett berömt tempel, som uppmuntrade anhängare att besöka. Utsiktsdäcket är känt som en av Tokyos bästa utsiktsplatser och erbjuder panoramautsikt över Kantoslätten, med skyskrapor i fjärran. Fly från stadens liv och rörelse för en föryngrande dag där du kan få kontakt med naturen i en andlig miljö.
Mt.Takao anses vara ett heligt berg och har varit en plats för tillbedjan i över 1000 år. På vägen uppför berget passerar du genom Yakuo-in-templet där du kan be till shinto-buddhistiska bergsgudar (tengu) om lyckan.
Lederna varierar i svårighetsgrad från lätt till seriös vandrare så låt din guide veta vad du föredrar. På vägen upp kommer guiden att ge förklaringar av det vilda djur du möter, utsikten och de budhist- och shintohelgedomar och statyer du kommer att se längs vägen. När som helst längs leden kan du stanna för en paus, eller för att ta ett mellanmål och en drink.
Stig nedför berget antingen till fots eller med linbana eller stollift (stolliften har ingen säkerhetsstång så var beredd på att hålla i ordentligt!). Lindra sedan dina trötta muskler i en avkopplande varm källa. Upplev säsongsbetonade pooler som det rosa "sakura Bath", liksom flera utomhus varma pooler. Om du har tid efter onsen visar Guiden dig runt i staden. Du kan se alla nostalgiska gamla butiker. Observera att personen med tatueringar inte får bada i de varma källorna.
Mt Takao är 599 meter högt och är inte särskilt högt, men det är fyllt av riklig flora och fauna och täckt av vandringsleder, både tillgängliga betongstigar och vilda grusvägar långt utanför den stig som gått. Först kommer du att gå till Takao 599 Museum där du kan lära dig om växter och djur som bor i detta berg. It is a hike to get up to the top, but the hard work is worth it, the views are jaw dropping. Our guide, Terry, was so fun and made the day incredibly memorable. This was one of the highlights of our Japan trip.

I had a really lovely day; it was a busy day, as it was a public holiday, but the weather was perfect so we had a spectacular view of Mount Fuji, from the summit of Mount Takosan. Keita, my guide was very friendly, knowledgeable and accommodating; we went to the monkey park instead of the Onsen, and he took me to the fire ceremony in the temple. Thank you for a wonderful experience!

A very nice hike up Mt Takosan, visiting a temple and participating in a fire ceremony on the way to the top. It was beautiful day so I had a spectacular view of Mt Fuji that was so much better than expected. My guide was brilliant, very friendly, accommodating, knowledgeable. Definitely a trip worth doing!

Yuki was an excellent hike guide. She tailored the hike to our preferences (slightly harder route), and taught us a lot about the flora, Japanese religions, culture and customs along the way. Would recommend to anyone, as the hike can also be made easier with different route choices.

Our hike up Mount Takao with Maki was a fantastic experience. She was incredibly informative about the different routes to the summit and helped us choose the best one for us. Along the way, she shared insights about the things we saw, adding so much depth and meaning to the hike. Maki also gave us great recommendations for other things to do after we finished, which helped us make the most of our time in the area. We had a great time with our guide Maki :) It was nice to get out of the hustle of the city and appreciate Japan's beautiful scenery. The itinerary was paced well and gave lots of time to enjoy the different attractions. Maki made sure we had time to rest and appreciate the views throughout the hike and she gave us some interesting information about the Yakuouin temple and the practices there. She made sure we were well taken care of even when the onsen was closed unexpectedly :)

Mt Takao your was amazing. We choose to do the nature tour which was really worth it then cable car back down. K who was our guide was full of knowledge, English speaking was great also made the tour very relaxing. Really nice sitting for lunch and talking more. It’s a must do… 👍

Keita made the very strenuous excursion very good he was e extremely patience with us - the views we got when reaching the summit were amazing - the extreme climb walking up to it was challenging but we did it / Keita took time to tell Us the history of it all as we went along - we were lucky to see the religious ceremony at the Tenple which we thoroughly enjoyed - our lunch together was great - Then Keita es ported us back to our Hotel - we wish him all the best with his Tourist Guiding and would highly recommend him to our friends
