På den här speciella rundturen kommer vi att resa ut från Siem Reap till Preah Vihear-templet i Preah Vihear-provinsen. Preah Vihear byggdes på toppen av en 525 meters klippa mellan Kambodja och Thailand gränsen. Det ger den bästa utsikten över skog och byar. Efter att ha besökt Preah Vihear-templet går vi över till Koh Ker templets grupp. Det mest kända templet i Koh Ker är Prasat Thom, ett 30m-pyramidformtempel som står högt ovanför slätten och den omgivande skogen. Slutligen kommer vi att gå till Beng Mealea som betyder Lotus Pond på engelska. Templet antas vara syster till Angkor Wat för sin liknande modell. Templet är i stort sett orörd med stora träd och tjock borste som växer på toppen av tornet. När turnén är klar kommer vi att släppa tillbaka till ditt hotell eller någon annan plats i Siem Reap town.

När vi börjar tidigt börjar vår guide mötas och hämta dig i lobbyn klockan 5:00 på ditt boende (Hotell eller Gästhus) som du kan packa frukost tillsammans med dig eller du kan äta frukost på någon bra restaurang under vägen & lunch detsamma också när vi äter längs vägen. Peah Vihear-templet är ett Khmer-tempel belägen ovanför en klippa på 525 meter i Dangrek-bergen, i Preah Vihear-provinsen i norra Kambodja och vid gränsen till Kantharalak-distriktet i Sisaket-provinsen i östra Thailand. År 1962, efter en lång konflikt mellan Thailand och Kambodja över ägande, tilldelades en majoritet av Internationella domstolen i Haag templet till Kambodja. Prasat Preah Vihear är en av de mest spektakulära inställningarna för alla templen som byggdes under det sex århundradet långa Khmer-imperiet. Som en viktig byggnad av imperiets andliga liv, stöddes och modifierades det av successiva kungar och så bär element av flera arkitektoniska stilar. Preah Vihear är ovanligt bland khmer tempel i att byggas längs en lång nord-syd axel, snarare än att ha den konventionella rektangulära planen med orientering mot öst. Templet ger sitt namn till Kambodjas Preah Vihear-provinsen, där den nu ligger, liksom Khao Phra Wihan National Park som gränsar den till Thailands Sisaket-provins och genom vilken templet är lättast tillgängligt. Den 7 juli 2008 var Preah Vihear listad som en UNESCO världsarvslista. Koh Ker-gruppen som befinner sig i provinsen Preah Vihear, var kortfattat huvudstaden i Khmer-imperiet mellan 928 och 944 under kung Jayavarman IV och hans son Hasavaraman II. Efter Khmer-imperiet hade etablerats i Angkor-området (Roluos), flyttade Jayavarman IV huvudstaden i 928 nästan 100 km nordost till Koh Ker. Här byggdes ett stort antal tempel under hans regeringstid, tills hans efterträdare återvände till Angkor-området omkring tjugo år senare. Koh Ker-webbplatsen domineras av Prasat Thom, ett 30 meter högt tempelberg som höjer sig över slätten och den omgivande skogen. Enastående vyer väntar besökaren i slutet av en äventyrlig klättring. Garuda, huggen in i stenblocken, skyddar fortfarande högst upp, även om de delvis är täckta nu. Tvärs över Koh Keras plats finns många prasat- eller tornreservat. Ett par har fortfarande en enorm linga på en yoni som ger utrymme för flera personer. Utloppet för vattnet som helgedes genom att springa över Linga kan ses i ytterväggen hos en av dem. I andra fall står tre prasat bredvid varandra, tillägnad Brahma, Shiva och Vishnu. De flesta av dem är omgivna av bibliotek och kapslingar, många hade också moats. Vid den tiden var taken fortfarande gjorda av trä. Idag förblir bara hålen för strålarna i stenstrukturerna.
Beng Mealea Temple (dess namn betyder "lotus damm") som ligger vid foten av Kulen Mountain. Det byggdes som hinduistisk tempel, men det finns några carvings som visar buddhistiska motiv. Dess primära material är sandsten och det är i stor utsträckning oförstörd, med träd och tjock pensel blomstrande mitt i sina torn och gårdar och många av dess stenar ligger i stora höjder. I åratal var det svårt att nå, men en väg som nyligen byggdes till templet i Koh Ker passerar Beng Mealea och fler besökare kommer till platsen. Byggd på 1200-talet tror många forskare att det var modellen för Angkor Wat. Det är lika underbart av ett tempel, men det är fortfarande i stor utsträckning förlorat i djungeln. Återvänd till ditt hotell och avsluta turnén mellan 17:00 till 18:00.

We had booked a private tour to Ko Ker and Beng Mealea. Due to the border disputes we were unfortunately unable to visit Preah Vihear. Nevertheless, thanks to the tour guide Youk and our driver San, we had a very eventful and very informative day. Our tour guide always knew about the best photo subjects and took great photos. Our driver provided us all day with cool drinks and cold towels; great service. Big compliments and thanks to both, they did a great job and brought us closer to their country and culture. We can highly recommend both.
Thean was very knowledgeable and made the tour fun. It was a long day, but he really tied in the history to make the sights make more sense. Excellent job and the driver, Sreang, was super great too!
First of all, don't make the same mistake I did. Just because Angkor Wat takes credit cards, doesn't mean that Preah Vihear or Koh Ker do. Cash is required! Thankfully my guide was able to help me get that situation sorted, otherwise it would have been a terrible day. As it was, the temples were amazing and our guide, Saruon Pal, was knowledgeable and engaging and helped make it one of the most memorable days of our trip.
Amazing day visiting Preah Vihear - a temple on a Cambodia-Thailand border, inscribed onto UNESCO World Heritage List. Plus two other temples located at a distance from Angkor area. Bun Hak is a great guide. We learnt from him a lot on Cambodian ancient and recent history, contemporary politics and culture. He also showed us a great number of hidden treasures in the temples that we visited- we wouldn’t be able to find them without him. The trip truly exceeded our expectations. Ancient and very recent history (Preah Vihear); Mayan-like pyramid (Koh Ker) and one of the most beautiful and climatic temples in the jungle (Beng Mealea). It all of that just in one day. Don’t just sit in Siem Reap and it’s vicinity. Go to the neighbouring provinces and discover the beauty of Cambodia beyond Angkor.
We are a Japanese/Italian couple on their honeymoon. The three temples we visited were all stunning, I really couldn’t say which one I liked the most. Preah Vihear is definitely worth waking up early and the long drive to the border with Thailand for the magnificent scenery. Our driver and tour guide, BunHak, were really kind and very knowledgeable about the history and temples of Cambodia. He was happy to answer all our questions and show us the best places to take pictures. Thank you very much, I hope to meet you again someday!
Saruon was the best guide ever and his English was so perfect. He was also a very skilled photographer. Soeang was our driver and his driving was so smooth and steady so we had a really comfortable ride all day. I highly recommend this tour to anyone who got come to Siem Reap. Cheers!
Mr Pal and the driver were so kind! Pal-san was funny, explained in detail and took a lot of photos. He came to the front of the hotel at 5am, where we met again in the morning, and arrived at the ruins at 8am as planned! I learned a lot from seeing various ruins. The driver drove very well and it was a comfortable trip!
I’m very glad I chose this tour. If you have one day, I strongly recommend this tour, get out the dusty, noisy city centre and enjoy fresh air and spectacular view in silence from top of the mountain, where you also see Thai border. Temples you see in this tour are very different from what you can see near Angkor Wat area. On the way to Preah Vihear, I saw amazing sunrise from the car. The guide Sok Chea and the driver were really nice and looked after me very well. Guide is very knowledgeable and made the trip very meaningful. Sok Chea speaks good English and is very professional. He also took many good pictures for me. The food they ordered in lunch was also good. Make sure you wear closed walking/sports shoes (not sandal) as you walk in mountain (it’s easy walk) This tour is worth for the price.
I came across the organizer here at TripAdvisor. Communication was straightforward. My request and all emails were answered promptly. The communication was in English - as was the communication during the excursion. The hotel pickup was on time and the quite long drive to the Preah Vihear was quick. The driver, Mr. Makara, drove very quickly but always safely. My guide, Mr.Vanna, was very open-minded and friendly. He accompanied me through all the temple complexes, explained the historical background and readily gave answers to my questions. The communication was excellent, to understand his English very well - I had other experiences there as well. The whole day trip was very entertaining and I liked it very much. Especially since these temples are located off the beaten path and were correspondingly under-visited. I can only recommend this trip but also the agency!
This tour was one of the highlights in our trip, and I strongly recommend it if you don't mind the early start. Visits to those temples were a completely different experience than those in the Angkor main area, as they were less crowed. Both our guide and driver were excellent. Mr Sok Chea, the tour guide, was very knowledged, friendly and open with information, not only about history and the temples, but also about customs and daily live of present Cambodia. Car was very comfortable and our driver make sure to drive it safely. We were really happy to have made the decision of taking this tour.
