Vi åker från Muscat till Nizwa, Omans gamla huvudstad. Besök på den berömda fästningen Nizwa. Idag är for ett museum som visar upp historien om fortet och det omgivande området. När du går genom fästningen får du se fantastiska vyer över den antika staden och de närliggande bergen. Denna imponerande fästning var en bas som användes inom militären för att hålla borta de hårdaste attackerna och beslag.
Platsen för en av de äldsta souken i landet, denna omfattande marknadsplats är tillägnad mestadels frukt och grönsaker, kött och fisk, som alla är inrymda i separata kvarter bakom den stora
Birkat Al Mouz är en liten stad i wilayat Nizwa i Al Dakhiliyah guvernement i Oman. Birkat Al Mouz ligger vid foten av Jabal Akhdar, så alla som ska till Jabal Akhdar måste passera för att gå igenom.
Bevattningssystem av Al Kattmyn, ett av de 5 bevattningssystemets arv av UNESCO. Därifrån går vi upp till Jebel Akhdar. Jebel Akhdar, även känt som det gröna berget, har många fruktplantager och rosenträdgårdar. Ta dig tid att gå genom kullarna och njut av utsikten över dalen
Jebel Akhdar eller Al Jabal Al Akhdar, är en del av Al Hajar-bergen i Ad Dakhiliyah Governorate i Oman. Den reser sig till en höjd av 2 980 m och omfattar Saiq-platån på 2 000 m över havet.

I took a busy vacation trip from Canada with my partner in December 2025. I had an amazing experience with Mohammed Salim. We did the Nizwa/Jabel Akhdar tour. He want out of his way to not only made us feel welcome but treat us like a family. We not only went to all the necessary places in our itinerary, he was kind to get us some dates and breakfast. We felt extremely comfortable with him and took great care of us. I connected with him like a family and was really inspired by his story. We had a very comfortable and enjoyable trip from Muscat to Jebel Akhdar. We were guided by Fauzi, who didn’t only drive but also explained about Oman history and culture. We stopped in some famous spots on the way, such as Nizwa Port, Nizwa souk, Nizwa old village, and Jebel Akhdar view points. Fauzi was knowledgeable and accommodating, made sure we enjoyed our trip. Highly recommended!

The itinerary was perfectly organized, covering Nizwa Souq, Nizwa Fort, Birkat Al Mouz, and the breathtaking views of Jebel Akhdar. A full day was promised and it was - start at 8.30am and back at nearly 6pm. The drive is 140km and 2 hours each way. Comfortable. A good look at the rather forbidding countryside dotted by villages and towns. On the way an impromptu visit to our guide Ali’s home village with an insight into their life. The Nizwa Fort well worth a visit. Our tour included a visit to several markets - the merchants often welcome our guide with a handshake and a smiling greeting. Very few tourists due no doubt to the war but all very peaceful here. Then up to Jebel Akhdar mountains and a visit to the terraced gardens of olives, pomegranates and roses. Our guide a gentle softly spoken man with quiet humour. A long but satisfying day.

We loved this tour with our 4 year old. Said Al Kiyumi was an excellent guide and very knowledgeable. We’re only in Oman for 3 nights so it was great to see some other parts of the country. We would highly recommend. Big thanks for Said!

We had an amazing tour in Oman with Shaker — truly one of the best experiences of our trip! 🌟 We explored Nizwa Fort and enjoyed incredible views and history, then walked through Nizwa Souq, where Shaker helped us find authentic Omani products and explained the local traditions behind them. It made shopping there so much more special! We also visited the beautiful ruins of Birkat Al Mouz, learned about the traditional aflaj irrigation system, and spent time with a small walk in the stunning mountains of Jebel Akhdar with breathtaking views and fresh air. Shaker was friendly, knowledgeable, and made the whole day fun and relaxed. Highly recommend touring Oman with him — a perfect mix of culture, history, and unforgettable scenery! 🇴🇲✨
