Heldags Poas-vulkanen, La Paz Waterfall Gardens och Coffee Plantation Experience

Beskrivning

I RECOMMEND THIS EXCURSION 1000/10!!!! If you enjoy a bit of hiking plus, animal sancuaries, you would love it!. The tour guide was extremely friendly and knowledgable.
We had an absolutely wonderful time on this trip and it was well worth the money. Everything we did on this trip was memorable and meaningful--from coffee plantation tour, volcano crater viewing, animal rescue center, and waterfall gardens. We also had a terrific guide, Raquel/Rachel. She was especially knowledgeable and made sure we had a great time. All in all, I'd say don't miss this trip and you would be happy to have Raquel as your guide.
Best full day tour of Poas, coffee plantation, and La Paz waterfalls. Go with Olman!
Wonderful experience. Nicely organized. Raquel & Olmann were amazing. Had a great time at volcano and farm, lunch ok not great but awesome overall
I had a wonderful day trip to Poás Volcano and La Paz Waterfall Gardens. The itinerary was very well organized and perfectly paced, so we never felt rushed. Our guide, Raquelle, was amazing — very knowledgeable, kind, and attentive. We were a small group of only six people, which made the experience feel relaxed and personal. We were lucky to see both the volcano and the lagoon, although that depends on the weather. La Paz was also beautiful, with the animals and the waterfalls making it a great mix of nature, learning, and a bit of exercise before heading back. Highly recommended!
This was great fun and a real experience. We were lucky enough to see the volcanoes as the clouds parted. Our tour guide (Rachel) was great and was very friendly Anna easy going.
⭐️⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The Best Tour We’ve Ever Taken! Our Full Day Poás Volcano, La Paz Waterfall Gardens, and Coffee Plantation tour was absolutely incredible from start to finish. A special thank you to Mr. Olman, the owner and driver, and Raquel, our tour guide. They were exceptionally knowledgeable, outstanding communicators, and, most importantly, genuinely kind and caring people who made everyone feel welcome. When we arrived at Poás Volcano, it was completely covered by clouds. Many people would have given up, but Raquel encouraged us to be patient and wait about 30 minutes. Thanks to her experience and positive attitude, the clouds began to clear after only 20 minutes, and we were rewarded with the most spectacular view of the volcano. It was truly a magical moment that we will never forget. The tour was conducted in a small group of only six people, which made the experience even more enjoyable and personal. We met wonderful travelers from different parts of the world, adding an extra special touch to the day. Every stop was amazing, well-organized, and perfectly timed. The coffee plantation was fascinating, the waterfalls were breathtaking, and the entire experience exceeded our expectations. Without a doubt, this was the best tour we have ever done. We highly recommend it to anyone visiting Costa Rica. If you’re looking for an unforgettable experience with exceptional people, this is the tour to book! Pura Vida! 🇨🇷 ❤️
I did this tour with my mom and it was a perfect way to experience different places near San Jose. Raquel was an excellent tour guide - friendly, knowledgeable, and accommodating (for example, she was very clear about the level of effort for some of the walks at different sites so people could opt out and take alternate routes if they wanted). The driver was also very safe and the van was comfortable. We had enough time at each of the sites and never felt rushed. The lunch was very good and included plenty of options. I highly recommend this tour.
Let me tell you about the day Costa Rica completely won me over. 🇨🇷 First stop — Volcán Poás. A living, breathing, actively erupting stratovolcano at nearly 9,000 feet. The trail through the cloud forest to the crater is unlike anything — mossy twisted trees, volcanic red soil, cool sulfur-tinged air. The main crater is raw and primordial, one of the 30 most ultra-acid crater lakes on the planet, still venting steam and gases with a pH between -0.9 and 2.0. They paint yellow circles on the concrete viewing platform around impact craters from ejected volcanic rock. Recent ones . That detail alone stops you cold. Then a short hike through the cloud forest to Laguna Botos — a dormant crater now filled with the most impossibly emerald green water, serene and completely beautiful. The sign explains the color — aluminosilicate particles reflecting sunlight, giving the water its emerald appearance. Same volcano. Two completely different personalities. From fire to coffee. La Casita del Café — Medio Sol Media Luna — a working coffee farm perched on the hillside with the entire Central Valley stretching out below you. Row after row of Coffea arabica plants, volcanic soil, perfect elevation. Walking the rows you see it all at once — tiny white jasmine-scented coffee blossoms, clusters of green unripe cherries, and the occasional ripe red cherry ready for harvest. I picked one right off the branch. That little red berry is your morning espresso before it becomes anything recognizable. Then sitting at a wooden window ledge with a perfectly pulled cup looking out over the entire farm — that cup hits completely different when you can literally see where it came from. And that Rainbow Eucalyptus? Yes — it actually looks exactly like that in real life. 🌈 Then La Paz Waterfall Gardens — which turned out to be two extraordinary experiences in one. First, a wildlife rescue sanctuary where every single animal was confiscated from illegal captivity by Costa Rica's Wildlife Ministry and cannot be released back into the wild. A jaguar who walked straight up to the glass and locked eyes with me — that stare goes right through you. A puma stretched out on the rocks looking completely unbothered by the entire world. Scarlet macaws bold as you please in the aviary. Blue Morpho butterflies feeding on fruit right at eye level while visitors stood completely speechless around them. Hummingbirds darting at feeders in every direction. And then — a keel-billed toucan who decided I was interesting enough to pose with. Cheek to beak. I am genuinely not over it. 🦜 The sign at the entrance said it best — none of these animals were taken from nature. Every one of them was rescued from people who thought a wild animal could be a pet. Costa Rica takes that seriously. So do I. And finally — the waterfalls. Five of them cascading through a jungle canyon so impossibly green it barely looks real. The trail map names them beautifully — Magia Blanca, Encantada, Escondida, La Paz. White Magic, Enchanted, Hidden, Peace. They named them well. Standing at the base of La Paz waterfall in the rain, completely soaked, surrounded by giant tree ferns with the roar of the water filling absolutely everything — I just stood there and let it all arrive. There's a covered overlook where you can stop, breathe and take it in. I stayed longer than I probably should have. Volcán Poás. Coffee farm. Jaguar. Toucan. Waterfalls. All in one day. Costa Rica keeps showing me something new around every corner. I came here with questions. This country is not making them easy to answer. 🌋☕🦜💦 Pura Vida. ✨ #CostaRica #PuraVida #VolcanPoas #LagunaBotos #CoffeeFarm #MedioSolMediaLuna #LaPazWaterfallGardens #WildlifeRescue #Jaguar #Toucan #BlueMorpho #Puma #Waterfalls #CloudForest #RainbowEucalyptus #CentralValley #ExploreCR #Expat #Traveling #NatureLovers #CostaRicaCoffee #RetirementResearch
Our guide was very knowledgeable and personable so that was good however the day was way too long. There were too many breaks/pauses throughout. The tour easily could have been 2-3 hours shorter and still would've had non-rushed pace to it. We spent a lot of time just sitting around and traffic back into SJ could have maybe been avoided if started back earlier. Also, I highly recommend that if you are going to offer a coffee plantation tour, you include complimentary coffee as part of the experience and not have your clients have to buy it - takes away from it. I would reco if changes were made.
