Avgång från hotellet klockan 9:00 mot sällskapet Camacha för att observera korgfabriken och hela dess process. Efteråt klättrar du till Pico do Areeiro vid 1818m, där du kan se de vackra bergen och omgivande dalar och till och med socken Curral das nuntas, djupt i en av de stora dalarna. Nedstigning till Ribeiro Frio, där det finns en öringskammare som senare släpps i bäcken. Ett besök i Santana centrum följs för att observera de typiska triangulära husen med halmtak, följt av ett annat stopp i Faial. När du återvänder till Funchal kommer du att ha ytterligare två stopp, vid Ponta de São Lourenço och Machico. Återvänd till hotellet sen klockan 5:00

Cristo Rei i Garajau: Statyn av Cristo Rei i Garajau ligger på en av de mest överraskande platserna på Madeira och är ett av de mest emblematiska monumenten på östkusten. Det är ett måste att besöka, som erövrar besökare för sitt unika landskap.
Huvudstaden Santana med en otrolig utsikt mot Eagle Rock, Porto Santo, Ponta de São Lourenço och de lantbruksbyar som korsades efter Ribeiro Frio.
Santana är en av de finaste och mest färgstarka byarna på Madeira. Här bodde invånarna i vackra trähus med tak som slutade i det smala huvudet (Palheiros). Några av dem överlever fortfarande bland de moderna konstruktionerna, särskilt de som ligger nära Queimadas-området.
Ribeiro Frio är en utsökt plats, omgiven av aromatiska skogar, och erbjuder en välkomnande miljö. Dess sluttningar är trånga med många växtarter och utgör skogen del av Madeira. What a brilliant day. The scenery was absolutely stunning. Views were incredible. Great itinerary with a great variety. Although there was a schedule and lots of stops it never felt rushed. Our guide Renato was excellent very knowledgeable and with an easy turn of phrase. Very likeable and professional. We also met up again with our previous guide Lionel and the banter was very good. Great day thoroughly recommended.

This was a full day tour visiting Christo Rei, Machico viewpoint, the Rum distillery,Santana, Ribeiro Frio, and Pico d o Areeiro. Our guide/driver was Renato who was extremely knowledgeable about the history and flora. He also had a gentle sense of humour.

Fabulous trip. 15 customers in total in an air conditioned minibus. Driver, Renato, was excellent and also provided the very informative commentary. Plenty of stops for photo opportunities and one long stop in the lovely town of Santana for lunch. The excursion lasted just over 7 hours and if you have only enough time for one excursion, this is the one I would recommend.

Fabulous experience with our guide Lionel (Ritchie!!!) - who was funny and extremely knowledgeable. We did two tours. The East and West of Madeira. Both were very enjoyable.

From the very beginning we received excellent communication from Viator who we booked the tour with. They gave us maps and precise directions on how and where to connect with our tour guide. Our guide Renato was simply outstanding right from the moment we met him through to when our tour concluded and he dropped us off at our ship. The tour itself was amazing! Madeira is such a beautiful island and there is so much to see. This was a full day tour as we were picked up at 9 am and dropped off 4:45 pm. There was never a dull moment. We shared a van with about 8 others and everyone stuck to the schedule that Renato gave us at each stop. Renato's non stop commentary was awesome as he shared the history and so many details of the island with us. If you want an in depth look at the island of Madeira, I can't think of a better way to do it and especially if you get Renato as your tour guide.
