She doesn’t know it but if someone told me if I have a friend in Kyoto, I might just answer that I do and her name is Marie! I booked a half day tour with Marie for me and my two kids on a rainy day in Kyoto! Marie showed up ready to go and made the day a fun and memorable experience for us. She knew all of the ins and outs of the places we went, gave us cool history and information. And she was amazing in pointing out great settings and views for photos that we will have forever. She was always ready to answer questions, accommodate and took so many wonderful family photos for us. At the end of the day she gave us recommendations of what else to check out while we were in town and the next day she even followed up with some additional helpful tips once she knew where we were going. She was a gem and made our time in Kyoto a lot more memorable!
What an absolute BLAST of a tour. Marie is such a well informed, vibrant guide. The inside scoop for where to take photos would be enough, but the insightful commentary was the real star of the show. My legs are pleasantly sore, and couldn't be happier!

We spent an afternoon + early evening with Maria in a small group. From the start I had a good feeling, since she contacted us via what’s app and confirmed, sent exact meeting instructions with pictures. She was on site early, waiting for us as we arrived. Throughout the tour she maintained a friendly, humorous tone as she shared lots of interesting information and anecdotes about the sights we visited in Kyoto. These were well selected and varied. We especially appreciated the late afternoon start, since that meant at least some temples were less busy than usual. Overall it was a great travel experience we can recommend.
Tour guide was very informative and extra friendly. She had a sense of humor. She didn't rush us and let us walk our own pace since most of us were seniors. Thank you Maricel (I think was her name).
Marie was very knowledgeable about the history of Kyoto and related landmarks. The route was well planned and comprehensive.
The tour was fun and informative! We liked our guide, Marie! She replies quickly to text messages. She is really easy to follow and care about everyone’s well being on climbing up steep steps to the temples. We highly recommend this tour at 4pm when it is cooler and less crowded.
