This tour included an ear piece for each of us so at any given time we could hear our guide above the city’s noise. That was a game changer since we were walking and looking and listening. Our guide knew the city like one knows his own family. Very knowledgeable with dates and names and details! Manuel gave us a Fantastic tour. Very knowledgeable on the history, art, and food in Florence. Great English communication for being an Italian. He was very considerate that we were comfortable during the whole tour. Created a perfect atmosphere for a tourist. This was a private tour which helps our family much more than a large crowd.

I REALLY liked the way our guide did the tour in chronological order. The story makes more sense that way. I liked seeing the link between politics and tax policy and how it affected building design and ground floor footage. I liked the alley and back street pearls like the wine windows, architectural details, and small sacred spots. The tour leader’s English was hard to understand.

We were greeted by Manuel, who indulged us with so mary stories of Florence from Roman times through to the Medici. We were told how to spot signs that are hidden to most visitors. Only now do we see these hidden gems. What a lovely experience.

Explore Florence with a local. Discover hidden jewels that you would have never found on your own or on a large group tour. Yet all the major sites are covered but the historical commentaries at each are invaluable. Get great advice on what is of importance to see and what may not be worth your time. There is so much to see and discover in Florence. This may very well be the best way to do it.

Booking a half day walking tour was a really good idea for us to get a perspective of the depth of the history of Florence. Our guide, Sarah, was able to provide not just the history of the sights we visited but she did a great job in giving an overview and putting in context the various art work and the importance of the artists and leaders of Florence. We really enjoyed this tour.
