Om du älskar att utforska religiösa kulturer är detta den perfekta semestern för dig. - Besök Eklingji, en liten by med ett antal forntida tempel belägna i ett religiöst komplex i norra Mewar-regionen. Här finns 108 tempel meislade av sandsten och marmor byggd 734 e.Kr. - Nagda är en liten stad i den indiska staten Rajasthan. Nagda ligger förutom Bagela-sjön på 23 km nordväst om Udaipur på väg till Nathdwara. Nagda omfattar många små och stora tempel, men huvudattraktionen uppnås av dess "Sahastra Bahu" -tempel.

Turen börjar med en morgonhämtning från ditt hotell i Udaipur, följt av en bilresa till Eklingji, som ligger ca 20 km från staden.
Vid ankomsten till Eklingji Temple, tillbringa några timmar att utforska det berömda tempelkomplexet. Eklingjitemplet är ett hinduiskt tempelkomplex i Kailashpuri, Udaipur, Rajasthan, och är Kula Devata under Mewardynastin. Templet byggdes ursprungligen av Bappa Rawal på 700-talet och förstördes av Delhi Sultanate invasioner. På 1300-talet renoverade Hamir Singh templet och installerade den första bevarade idolen. Rana Kumbha återuppbyggde det på 1400-talet och lade till ett Vishnu-tempel. Efter en attack av Ghiyath Shah i slutet av 1400-talet, Rana Raimal rekonstruerade templet med hjälp av lösen från Ghiyath Shah. Ursprungligen tillhörde den Pashupata-sekten, men kom senare under kontroll av Nath-sekten på 1500-talet. Efter avslutad Eklingji-tur fortsätter ni till Nagda.
Sahasra Bahu-templen (även kallade Sasbahu-templen) i Nagda, Rajasthan, är ett par hinduiska tempel från 900-talet tillägnade Virabhadra. De delar plattform, med det större templet omgivet av tio underordnade helgedomar och det mindre av fyra. Templen visar Māru-Gurjara arkitektur, med en helgedom, mandapa, öppen veranda och tegel shikharas. Medan mycket av exteriören är slät, interiörer och verandor är överdådigt snidade. Det mindre templet har en restaurerad shikhara, medan det större är avkortat. Templen är lokalt kända som Sas Bahu, en korruption av Sahasra-Bahu (vilket betyder "En med tusen armar", en form av Vishnu). Nagda var en gång en viktig stad i Mewar, möjligen en huvudstad. År 1226 förstörde Iltutmish Nagda. I närheten ligger Adbhutji Shanthinath Jain Tirth eller Nagahyuda Jain Mandir, en gammal Jain centrum. Salim was an excellent tour guide and considerate and safe driver. He took me to numerous sites in the beautiful countryside north of Udiapur. Places which would have been difficult to visit on public transport. He was very knowledgeable and provided excellent English descriptions of the historical, cultural and religious significance of the sites of Eklingji and Nagda. It was a morning well spent and I highly recommend this tour.

Our driver was SALIM. He did an excellent job of communicating the night before and was on time to pick us up and took us to all the places that we were scheduled to go and showed us a few extra things as well. We enjoyed talking with him and his English was very good. Very smooth and easy experience.

The tour with Salim is a fantastic way to spend your time in Udaipur. Salim took us to magical spots off the beaten path. When we asked if we could stop for lunch, he took us to a great little restaurant that we never would have found on our own—cheap and delicious. I highly recommend visiting these two temples. Mr. Sajid was a kind and helpful driver, giving some historical information along the way. He even took us to a few other nice places that were well worth visiting and weren’t even part of the tour.

I took this tour a few days ago and it was wonderful. I recommend the took took just for the fun scenery, but it’s a lot of highway driving so the car would also be a great option. We visited several temples, many of which had no tourist and were wide open to explore and take pictures absolutely beautiful highly recommend.

Salim was an excellent tour guide, he took me via the backroads through a picturesque farming village to both temples. A true taste of India and a stunning tour that should not be missed. I felt safe and was treated to an extra by way of a beautiful garden with all the history carefully explained by Salim. Well worth it!
