Memnonkolosserna är två massiva stenstatyer som ligger på Nilens västra strand nära staden Luxor i Egypten. De är allt som finns kvar av ett större bårhustempelkomplex byggt av farao Amenhotep III under 1300-talet f.Kr. (ungefär 1350-1334 f.Kr.). Statyerna föreställer Amenhotep III sittande på sin tron, och varje staty är cirka 18 meter (60 fot) lång och väger cirka 700 ton. De skars ut ur enstaka block av kvartsitsandsten och placerades ursprungligen vid ingången till faraos tempel. Statyerna skapades för att vakta templet och för att representera faraos gudomliga makt och auktoritet.

Ahmed A was really the best guide we could have ever had. Seriously this guy knew his stuff well on ancient Egyptian history and was excellent. Covered all the must see in the valley of the kings, Hatshepsut temple and menmon etc. He also provided cold water bottles and ice cream which was much needed in the Luxor heat. Thank you Ahmed 👍👍👍
the history of Egypt is amazing and we're lucky to have an excellent guide who gives us detailed information and also cares for his guests..We highly recommend Abdel wahab he's the best.

Our half-day tour started right at 5:30 AM when Ammar (our guide) and our driver picked us up at our hotel to head to the West Bank. Thanks to the early start, we were the very first people to enter the Valley of the Kings right at 6:00 AM—which was the absolute best way to beat the intense June heat and the crowds. We hit the absolute crowning heavyweights of the West Bank: the Valley of the Kings, the Temple of Hatshepsut, and the Colossi of Memnon. Ammar seemed to know every local we encountered along the way, and everyone greeted us with warm smiles. He was fantastic at explaining thousands of years of history without overwhelming us with information. He also did a masterful job of balancing structured time explaining the history with plenty of "free time" for my wife and me to explore the sites on our own terms at each of the sites He was always prompt; available, and prepared. He also graciously took many requested photos of us. In fact, we enjoyed our morning tour so much that we asked Ammar to guide us through Karnak Temple as well. If you are visiting Luxor, I highly recommend booking this private tour!

Mahmoud was very kind and drove with a wonderful guide. When in the Valley of the Kings we made a mistake and came back to see only one grave, he went out of his way to turn around and come back to see it again. Mahmoud 's guide and it was great!! They provided water and juice, and the car was air-conditioned. They came as soon as I contacted them and were friendly! I'm very happy that they also taught me about tourist attractions!
