Byggandet av Karnak-templet sträckte sig över en period på cirka 2 000 år, som började i Mellersta kungariket och fortsatte genom perioden med Nya Riket. Den var tillägnad dyrkan av den tebanska triaden, som bestod av guden Amun, hans gemål Mut och deras son Khonsu.
Luxortemplet, även känt som Luxortemplet, är ett forntida egyptiskt tempel beläget på Nilens östra strand i staden Luxor, Egypten. Det är ett av de mest betydelsefulla och välbevarade templen från det antika Egypten. Byggandet av Luxor-templet går tillbaka till det gamla Egyptens Nya kungariket, med de tidigaste strukturerna från Amenhotep III:s regeringstid (1390-1352 f.Kr.). Men det utökades och modifierades ytterligare av efterföljande faraoner, inklusive Tutankhamon, Ramses II och Alexander den store.
