Lion & Safari Park ligger 30-45 minuters bilresa från Johannesburg, som ligger i mänsklighetens historiska vagga. Det är ett skyddat naturskyddsområde som är hem för över 80 lejon, inklusive de berömda vita lejonen som spelade i den internationellt hyllade långfilmen "The White Lion". Efter hämtning tar vi oss till Lion & Safari Park, som ligger norr om Johannesburg i The Cradle of Humankind. Efter ett kort säkerhetssamtal tas du med på en 2-timmars game drive i rovdjurshägnet i ett specialiserat öppet safarifordon. Återvänd till huvudcentret för att tillbringa lite tid med att titta på de unga lejonungarna och andra djur. Du kan köpa något att äta och dricka på Wetlands Restaurant (egen kostnad) och ungdomarna kan leka tryggt på den övervakade lekplatsen. Gå in i 5 Dome Shopping Experience för en shoppingrunda på semestern. Du hittar ett brett utbud av lokalt producerat afrikanskt konsthantverk, smycken, kläder och husgeråd. Nicolas the driver was friendly, punctual and helpful. Sadly my final day in Johannesburg was messed up as I booked this tour due to the timings ( which were confirmed) and I was told pick up would be 8.00. The day before I was told due to a large group we would now be moved to 10.00. We did not get back to joberg until 15.30 as hit rush hour traffic giving me no time to do my planned afternoon. Lion park itself was wrll organised, clean amd a fun way ro see lots of lions amd other animals. It was great that the humans travelled by cage while the lions had lota of space despite being in enclosures. What felt less good was the 2 leopards that appeared to be in a very small enclosure and more like a zoo. Overall this isn't an authentic gamedrive but worth a visit if short on time and want to see lions up close.

An enjoyable way to spend half a day or so. We were picked up from our Johannesburg hotel and driven to the park where we had a short wait before the tour itself started. Our driver/guide was very knowledgeable and the park is set out to allow very close access to most of the animals.

We went on our first safari last week but only saw 2 of the Big 5. Our tour guide did not disappoint us at this venue, Lion and Safari Park was the perfect way to close out our week in Johannesburg. Watching the lions feed from the safety of the vehicle had all of us leaning forward. We also passed wild dogs, hyenas, giraffes, wildebeest, and zebras throughout the park, with plenty of good light for photos and staff happy to talk conservation. Evie made sure this last day landed the way the whole week had; it was enjoyable, well-run, and safe. A strong finish to a week we won’t forget.

I had a great experience at the Lion & Safari Park. It was the perfect half-day trip from Johannesburg and a great way to experience South Africa’s wildlife. The park is well organized, the facilities are clean, and everything ran smoothly. We saw lions, cheetahs, wild dogs, zebras, and several other animals, and our guide shared interesting information throughout the drive. A special thank you to the driver, Lebo, who was incredibly kind, professional, and welcoming. He made the experience even more enjoyable with his positive attitude and excellent service. Great day …had a 2 hour truck ride around the park . Saw prides of lions, including white lions. Saw zebras, wild dogs, hienas,and fed the giraffe.

My adventure began when Nicholas picked me up at my hotel. He was so kind and had a great sense of humors, putting me at easy right away as a solo traveler. When we got to the park he took us to the ticket booth and helped us get acclimated with directions. The tour itself was unreal. Being so close to lions was an experience I never thought I’d have. Our guide Masan, was full of interesting facts, funny anecdotes and gave each of us the very best experience. He took pictures for me and helped create memories I’ll have for ever. I loved this experience and wish everyone had the opportunity to go.
