We booked the last trip of the day (1630) - probably best time for temperature. We had a small group and had an excellent tour guide. An archaeologist herself she was very informative and clearly had a passion for telling the history of Delos which she did very well. Highly recommend the trip - even my husband who tends to be less interested in historical tours than me really enjoyed it. We had already visited the archaeological museum in Mykonos Town (free) which I also recommend doing as lots of the artefacts are there.
We went on the last ferry out (5p) which I highly recommend - temperature was perfect and we got the most beautiful sunset. Bring water! And comfortable walking shoes. Our guide was very knowledgeable and we learned so much. If you have any interest in history would definitely make time for this when visiting Mykonos. Very special place

Delos is an extraordinary site, with incredible richness. Furthermore, our guide knew how to bring its history back to life for us.
It was extremely hot! I had a cooling fan with me and that’s how I survived. The tour was interesting if you like history. It’s an archeological site so that’s your tour. There is nothing else on the island. The tour guide was great and she did a good job making it interesting.
It was lovely— very windy (be careful with your hat) but the guide was fantastic and I learned a lot about Delos as an ancient port city.
The information provided in the description was accurate. At the Delos Tour boarding/disembarking kiosk, which is very well located and visible, they were very kind and very clear. Excellent ferry transfer. "Superlative" guided tour in Italian, as we were lucky enough to have none other than the thirty-year director of the archaeological site as our guide. Extremely knowledgeable and passionate, she offered many interpretations and points of view on culture, religion, art, and architecture that were truly very profound and authentic. The site leaves you speechless; it is extensive and conveys very well the extremely high importance that ancient Greek populations and others attributed to this sacred island.
Excellent trip. Historical site of Delos is first rate, incredibly well preserved and well worth a visit. We headed to the port to exchange our tickets and board the ferry before meeting our guide on the island. Celia, our guide, an archaeologist, was fascinating and super knowledgable and made the tour for us. There is no shade but we were prepared for that, brought water, and hats. Brilliant trip.
Nice tour of the island with an audio guide. Be careful, it is very hot and there is no shade on the island. Many ruins, even if only 1/3 have been discovered. Be aware that you have to use your imagination and not expect to see entire or fully restored buildings. A beautiful historical excursion
Our very knowledgeable and kind guide Celia really immersed us in the ancient history of the site and did so not only with facts but also with great humour. As my partner is a grad student of history, we were worried that the tour wouldn't be in depth enough to learn anything new but Celia did an amazing job finding a middle ground for both lay people and professionals to enjoy. This is science communication at its best, it is a tour for anyone. <3. The only thing we wish for is a longer and even more in depth tour ;D The cats on the island are worth a visit on their own. I would recommend booking directly through the museum (Delos tours) as it includes all fees (ship+entrance to the archeological site). The group was small enough to get around comfortably - we went on a weekday before noon and the island was mostly empty, which made for a mystical atmosphere. Bring a sunhat that is immune to strong winds.
