I was on a Mountain Goat Tour of Hadrian's Wall with Derrick April 2024. I went on an all day trip with a guide named Derrick. He knew his history and was able to share his knowledge in a conversational way. I found him to be courteous and kind. Did a great job. The "bus" was a Mercedes Sprinter van type, clean and still had that new car smell. Big windows, excellent climate control. The sites visited were fascinating. We had time to get out and hike around them. We spent time in the museums and found the cafe in both to be excellent. I would recommend Mountain Goat Tours to anyone without reservation.

This is an unmissable tour if you are interested in Roman history or archeology. It's especially good if you don't have a car and still want to see Hadrian's Wall. Seeing Vindolanda was amazing. Duncan was a great guide!!! If you go in Spring, wear good footwear you don't mind getting muddy!

An amazing day trip .. can’t recommend enough. We on our honeymoon and a trip to Hadrians wall and vindolanda on my bucket list ! This trip not a let down . Duncan our driver amazing knowledge of area from lakes district to Hadrians wall . As a history geek absolutely brilliant tour .

Had a really great day, Duncan our driver and tour guide was excellent, not only does he have extensive knowledge of Hadrians Wall, Lancercost Priory & Vindolanda but also the villages, towns and landscape we passed through on our journey to and from Hadrians Wall which I found really interesting and gave a real insight into how the Romans influenced the area. Driving past the lakes and beautful countryside went to making this a memorable day.

I was surprised to see how much of the walls and associated forts remain, in ruins yes, but still there. Fascinating!
