Madam Khanh – Banh Mi Queen är en berömd bánh mì-butik i Hoi An, Vietnam. Smörgåsen är känd för sin krispiga baguette och fylliga, smakrika fyllningar och innehåller ingredienser som grillat fläsk, kyckling, paté, örter, inlagda grönsaker och en speciell hemlagad sås. Med över 30 års erfarenhet hyllas Madam Khanh för att ha skapat en av Vietnams bästa bánh mì.
**Cao lầu** är en måste-prova Hoi An specialitet, med tuggiga nudlar, salt röding siu fläsk, färska örter från Tra Que, och krispiga fläsk krackeleringar. Med en unik blandning av vietnamesiska, kinesiska och japanska smaker kan denna maträtt endast hittas i sin autentiska form i Hoi An. En sann smak av arv i varje tugga!

White Rose Dumplings – A Hoi En specialitet med mjuk, genomskinlig risdeg fylld med räkor eller fläsk, formad som en blomma och toppad med krispig schalottenlök. Hoi An Dumplings – Chewy dumplings gjorda på tapioka eller rismjöl, fyllda med salt fläsk eller räkor, ångkokta och serveras med en söt-kryddig doppsås. Fried Wonton – Krispiga wontons toppade med sauterade räkor, grönsaker och sötsur sås – Hoi Ans version av ”vietnamesisk pizza”!
**Black Sesame Sweet Soup (Chè Mè Đen)** är en traditionell Hoi An dessert känd för sin släta konsistens, rika nötiga smak och hälsofördelar. Soppan är gjord på malda svarta sesamfrön, glutinöst rismjöl och en touch av socker och sjuds försiktigt till en tjock, sammetslen konsistens. Serveras varm, den är tröstande, lätt söt och full av näringsämnen. Lokalbefolkningen njuter ofta av det som en lugnande behandling, särskilt på kvällarna. En enkel men själfull smak av Hoi Ans kulinariska tradition.

We booked three tours with Tommy (Toan) for our group of 11, all arranged last minute via WhatsApp. Tommy was incredibly responsive and customized each tour to suit our group’s different ages and interests. He was informative, friendly, and made everything effortless. His local team spoke excellent English, were fun, knowledgeable, and always helpful. Very good tour that pushed through despite the Tet holiday. Didn’t get to go to all the must see and taste place but was entertained and got to learn and see a lot of Hoi an and my guide Tom, tried his best to explain to me the history of the town and popular food. Since he’s a local guide, who’s born and lived in Hoi an all his life, he knows a lot of people and he’s quite popular with everyone we’ve encountered. Overall, a good very good experience despite not tasting the best Banh mi or the 2nd best. He took me to a popular off the map Banh mi place which is still good but doubt if it be comparable to Madam Khanh or to Banh mi Phuong. But it is what it is, we went to the two but unluckily both were still closed.
