Harich Monastery Complex ligger i Shirak-regionen, på norra sluttningen av Aragats-berget. Den består av två kyrkor: Sankt Gregorius och Sankt Astvatsatsin, en vestibul, ett klocktorn, depositarier, ett kapell, en skola och andra byggnader. Ingen tydlig information har bevarats om byggandet av klostrets första kyrka, men analysen av inskriptionerna på väggarna bevisar att kyrkan går tillbaka till 600-talet. Harichavank var ett viktigt utbildningscentrum, som blomstrade särskilt på 1200-talet. Det är ett annat prov på armeniskt medeltida arkitekturtänkande, en återspegling av tidens anda och ett historiskt vittne. Den berömde armeniske författaren Avetik Isahakyan fick sin grundskoleutbildning på den lokala skolan.
Den andra staden i Armenien, Gyumri, som också kallades Leninakan, Alexandrapol, och i den ursprungliga armeniska versionen Kumayri, var bebodd sedan 3: e årtusendet. Efter att ha färdats en mycket lång historisk väg presenterar Gyumri sig idag med sin gamla stadsdel, som är bäst bevarad i stadens centrum. Varje byggnad i Gyumri har sin historia, som är rik på armenisk medeltida arkitektonisk anda. Denna turiststad är attraktiv på grund av sina vackra byggnader, gator, kyrkor, och naturligtvis, dess oupprepbara, unika Gyumri humör; trots allt är Gyumri centrum för humor, konst och hantverk i Armenien. De tre berömda kyrkorna Gyumri och Black Fortress ingår också i stadsrundturen.
Black Fortress är en försvarsborg byggd av svart sten. Den byggdes 1834 efter det andra rysk-persiska kriget. Avvattningssystemet, som skyddade slottets murar från regn, förtjänar särskild uppmärksamhet. Den svarta fästningen, som nu förvandlats till ett turistcentrum, påminner besökarna om sitt militära förflutna.
På lördagar besöker vi istället för Harichavank Marmashenklostret.

You will be able to see a different glimpse of Armenia via numerous small villages to reach the monastery and ultimately you will arrive at a beautiful city. The guide Hayk was very informed and in perfect English informed about every aspect and driver Vahagn was very carefull. It is of great interest to try to see the Iron Fountain if you can walk which is far away from the centre and the Blue Iron Fountain which is close to the centre.

Yesterday I was on a day trip to Gyumri, Harichavank and Black Fortress with One Way tour and I wanna say a huge thanks to our Guide Tigran who made our trip unforgettable. That was the best tour ever. He’s professionalism is outstanding and our day was amazing, full of interesting stories and jokes. Waiting forward to see him again in other tours as well. Overall a very full and enjoyable day. The tour shuttle was full and we didn't get very good seats, but really that was the only downside. The guide Hayk did a Great Job handling the tour in Armenian and English. The destinations were quite interesting and we felt that we had enough time in each place to explore fully. A very good sightseeing option at a very reasonable price!

The driver Artyom 5+ The guide Tigran 2- Please take care of your guide's training. He is ignorant of Armenian church history and provides wrong information. And he provides either wrong or half done information on everything. Which is unacceptable because he introduces Armenia to foreigners and local people. Guide's job is a serious job. And they should be very well prepared.
