Upptäck den paradisiska hemligheten gömd i bergen i Tierra del Fuego: Laguna Esmeralda-vandringen. Gillar du naturen och bergen? Då är denna vandring något för dig. Du kommer att ta en av de vackraste bilderna av Tierra del Fuego. Vi hämtar dig på ditt hotell, och vi åker 16 kilometer med fordon längs riksväg nr 3 tills vi når början av stigen. Äventyret börjar! Totalt väntar 9 kilometer (tur och retur) dig som går genom skogen: glaciala dalar, bäverfarmar, torvmossar och den Fuegiska magin som följer dig under hela resan. Denna promenad anses vara medelsvår och uppvisar inga betydande ojämnheter.

Vi gör ett tekniskt stopp i Valle de Lobos där guiden (vid behov) visar oss korrekt användning och förberedelse av säkerhetsutrustning som stegjärn.
På vägen till Laguna Esmeralda inbjuder ett stopp vid Mirador del Valle Carbajal dig till en paus och en beundran av ett av de mest imponerande landskapen i Tierra del Fuego. Från denna panoramautsiktspunkt breder ut sig en vidsträckt dal av glacialt ursprung, täckt av torvmossar, slingrande floder och omgiven av den imponerande Eldsjöbergskedjan. Det är den perfekta platsen att ta bilder, andas frisk luft och få kontakt med naturen i dess renaste form. På klara dagar gör de kontrasterande färgerna och landskapets vidsträckta natur detta stopp till ett oförglömligt ögonblick under utflykten.
Ankomsten till Laguna Esmeralda är vandringens höjdpunkt, där naturen är i full gång. Dess intensivt gröna vatten, matat av smältningen av Ojo del Albino-glaciären, står i kontrast till de omgivande bergen, skogarna och torvmossarna. Landskapet är lugnt och majestätiskt, perfekt för att vila, fotografera och njuta av ett unikt ögonblick i hjärtat av El Fuegien-bergskedjan. When I read the description of this tour, I thought that I would have no problems because all that was indicated was: Not recommended for travelers with back problems, No heart problems or other serious medical conditions, Not recommended for pregnant travelers, Most people can participate, and if you come with inappropriate attire, you will be refused. I complied with all those, and even if I use a walking cane to support my balance, I can still do treks. We even hurried the night before to a gear rental shop to rent proper hiking boots. Unfortunately, when the guide saw my condition on the day of the tour, we were denied participation and I was really sad this happened but I understand that they are just concerned for my safety. They offered a full refund but I did not want the day to go to waste (aside from the boots rental fee which went to waste already) and so they transferred us to the afternoon tour, the Classic 4 x 4 drive to the lakes of Ushuaia and it was a wonderful and enjoyable tour. So fair enough and all's well that ends well.

Ours was about a 90 minute hike each way. It was colder and more wind as we got close to lake. We put on gloves at the lake. Plan on layering and keep clothing change in backpack. Stocking caps never taken off and pulled down over ears for a few sections of hike. Rent boots as the shoes you wear will get muddy and wet! Stretches of hike are over muddy/boggy areas & streams. Part of the trek is up hill over rocky terrain. It is a gorgeous hike with mtn & pastoral vistas. Couple stores in Ushuaia rent the hike boots. Only disappointment was when we got back to meeting point parking lot after the hike had to wait an hour for van pickup. Gascon, our guide, apologized and said should not have happened. Gascon nice and friendly but did not provide much info on the areas we were hiking through. If that is of interest read up before you go.

Our guide Antonela was great and very experienced. She responded very well to the different needs in the group and seemed very competent and professional. Good clothing, good hiking boots and medium fitness are required.

We did Laguna Esmeralda with Fernanda, 4x4 excursion to the lakes with Guille, City tour with Ariel. Excellent guides. They fulfilled everything promised and more. Also because national and train, and navigation through the Beatles canal. Excellent coordination and the best vibe so we can enjoy this beautiful place! Thanks a lot
