"Enligt traditionen byggdes huvudkyrkan på den plats där Miadzin kom ner, Etchmiadzin. I Gregorius vision visar Kristus platsen för huvudtemplet med en gyllene hammare. Den äldsta katedralen i världen, grundad år 303, var avsedd att bli ett viktigt vittne och deltagare i det armeniska folkets historia. Eftersom Etchmiadzinkatedralen är det viktigaste centret för den armeniska kyrkans världsnätverk, representeras den nu av ett stort område, inklusive många gamla och nya kyrkor, sekulära strukturer, bibliotek, ett seminarium etc."
Serien av härliga kyrkor i det sjunde århundradet fortsätter med St Gayane, som grundades bara 12 år senare än St Hripsime. Denna kyrka, som byggdes år 630, byggdes på graven av en kristen jungfru som dog i Armenien i slutet av 200-talet och början av 300-talet, ungefär tre århundraden efter hennes död. Kyrkan restaurerades 1652. Det finns många kistor på gården, bland dem kända militära och kulturella personer i det armeniska folket.
Enligt experter anses Saint Hripsimes arkitektur vara ett av de bästa armeniska exemplen. Här användes för första gången armeniska nischer som gav seismiskt motstånd. Byggandet av den enorma kyrkan slutfördes år 618 och lämnade efter sig ett stort arkitektoniskt arv, vars detaljer fortfarande används idag.
Trots att Zvartnots är förstört fortsätter det att vara unikt när det gäller dess andliga, kulturella och arkitektoniska betydelse. Denna enorma kyrka uppkallad efter änglarna hade byggts i 9 år och invigdes år 652. Det underbara templet med en höjd på 46-49 meter förstördes, förmodligen som ett resultat av en jordbävning, varefter sådana kyrkor inte längre byggdes i Armenien. Zvartnots verkliga utseende var länge okänt tills arkitekt T. Toramanianus föreslog den verkliga ursprungliga formen av kyrkan, vilket senare bevisades av andra historiska fakta.

It was good to have a direct transportation to the sights and to have an explanation there. Unfortunately, our guide was far from being motivated for his job or interacting with the group or making an individual approach. Maybe he doesn't like his job. I guess sharing a taxi and having the attractions looked up online would have been a way, too.

Tatev is a very atmospheric place, opened up to us through fog and thick clouds. The cable car sank in the fog, sometimes showing below the amazing landscape. Yegor, our guide, gave a very lively and detailed account of the history of the place. Then we went to Hndzoresk. An unusual place whose history stopped not so long ago. The journey was completed at a work of art created by nature itself - a majestic waterfall.
