Denna version av Glasgow Cathedral är från 1197 efter att den ursprungliga katedralen föll offer för en brand strax efter att ha byggts 1136. Sedan dess har katedralen dock aldrig tagits av och gudsdyrkan har bedrivits inom dess murar i mer än 800 år. Necropolis är Glasgows mest kända kyrkogård. Den grundades 1831 och kopierade den parisiska kyrkogården Père Lachaise. I början av 1800-talet ville rika invånare i Glasgow presentera sig på ett adekvat sätt även efter sin död, därför är hela kyrkogården byggd för att imponera. Necropolis sträcker sig över 37 tunnland vilket motsvarar cirka 15 fotbollsplaner (det vill säga fotboll), eller bara cirka 150 000 m2.
Denna vackra stenbyggnad har kallats Provands herredømme sedan slutet av artonhundratalet. Innan var det känt som Hospital of St Nicholas.

Fördjupa dig redan på 1400-talet! Den första officiella registreringen av denna byggnad är från 1626 och sedan dess var det stadsskrivarens kontor, domstolen, stadsrådet och högst upp (av säkerhetsskäl) fängelset. Förstå hur åren har påverkat just den här byggnaden och hur den har förändrats över tiden.
Du tittar på tornet i Tron kyrka som idag är Tron Theatre och gatan som den ligger på heter Trongate. Ursprungligen var den känd som Saint Thenew's Gait eftersom den låg längs vägen till den förmodade platsen för Thenews begravning. Som en påminnelse, Thenew, eller hur hon idag är mer känd som Saint Enoch, är Saint Mungos mor. Varför kan den här byggnaden vara så minnesvärd för oss?
Glasgow hade den första polisstyrkan i hela Storbritannien och dess historia från 1800 till 1975 visas i detta museum. Här kan du få inblick i människorna, händelserna och andra faktorer som bidrog till grundandet, utvecklingen och framstegen för polisstyrkan i Glasgow.
Den här väggmålningen kallas "Fellow Residents of Glasgow" och målades av Smug. Den här väggmålningen på en vandrare som söker efter svamp i skogarna verkar vara direkt ur en saga. Alla djur du ser i den här väggmålningen kan hittas i Glasgows parker och grönområden. Djuren dyker upp genom vad som ser ut som hål i väggen.
Kyrkan byggdes ursprungligen 1824 och ersatte en äldre version. Den ritades av den engelske arkitekten Thomas Rickman i den gotiska väckelsestilen. På kyrkogården hittar du tobakshandlarna Andrew Buchanans och John Glassfords gravar. Den äldre Ramshorn-kyrkogården, nu delvis täckt av Ingram Street, var den "fashionabla" - och dyra - platsen att begravas i Glasgow på 1700-talet innan Necropolis blev den nya platsen att begravas på.
På den här platsen kan du se en staty av Merkurius, den romerske guden för ekonomisk vinning, handel, vältalighet, poesi, resenärer, gränser, tur, knep och tjuvar. Merkurius står på en marmorsockel och är en av två skulpturer av Merkurius gjorda av Alexander Sandy Stoddart. Statyerna representerar det italienska kvarteret i Merchant City.
Stadskamrarna stod färdiga 1888 och invigdes av drottning Victoria som hedras med en staty i motsatta änden av George Square. De är också en webbplats som används som registerkontor i City of Westminster i London i en berömd serie. Kan du gissa vilken?
George Square är uppkallad efter kung George III och anlades ursprungligen så tidigt som 1781 som en del av ett schema för att skapa ett stadscentrum i rutnätsstil i typisk georgisk stil, men torget utvecklades inte på ytterligare 20 år!

Denna anläggning är från 1983. Interiören är inspirerad av Charles Rennie Mackintoshs verk och själva terummet är utformat efter Kate Cranstons Ingram Street-terum från tidigt 1900-tal. Alex kommer att berätta om ursprungshistorien till dessa terum.

The Lighthouse är ett besökscenter, utställningslokal och evenemangslokal som ligger i hjärtat av Glasgow.
Detta är den sista självbelåtna väggmålningen du kommer att se på denna turné. Den heter 'Honey, I shrunk the Kids' och kallas för fotorealistisk gatukonst.

I loved being able to walk when I wanted, at my own pace and able to see the spelling on places and things. It allowed us to spend more time at places that really interested us.

A wonderful full day in the Highlands. Guide Terry was amazing! Cheerful & helpful to the end of the day, she provided massive amounts of Scottish history, folklore, music & some personal anecdotes, corny jokes too! Gorgeous views on the cruise of Loch Ness. All added up to a superb day.

It was fantastic we saw so much of Glasgow we wouldn’t have seen without it . Had we not have used the app we would have just seen the shops and gone home

The speach was boring and not easy to understand. The application we had to use was bad. We had to look at the map for the whole time. The text didn‘t start automatically. We didn‘t finish the tour.

Didn’t get a chance to make the tour had other plans that day I went to the castle and downtown had to catch the train to Glasgow so we went downtown .

I did the tour in my mobility scooter on the basis that the tour was accessible, as it was described. Unfortunately it wasn't accessible. At the first stop, the cathedral, we were asked to go inside, and walk down the steps inside!. Not a good start. The next stop was the necropolis, which was reached down a long cobbled street. My bones were well shaken by the end of the street. The tour then climbed to the top, with the commentary making clear that it was a difficult climb for able bodied people. We did not attempt it, but retraced our steps up the cobbled street. We moved on from the cathedral area, only to find on our route several examples of kerbs which were not “dropped”, and which I could not cross in my scooter. I was forced to cross these roads on foot - which was difficult, leaving my wife to manually pull my scooter across. You are clearly not responsible for the lack of dropped kerbs , but you are responsible for describing the tour as accessible, which it clearly wasnt. Finally, for the last 5 to 10 stops, we could not get any commentary.

The self guide tour was useful in seeing places on our own, specially if one is trying to it at own pace. The content was good as well. The functionality of app was a bit cumbersome as the user has to exit it, get on the map guide and then get back on the app again which would sometimes lose its place and have to start all over on the app. It would have been better if the person narrating can narrate you to the next location so never have to leave the guide app

They lie over the phone that we meeting a person there but was nobody. We called them back and they said we paid for instructions only. ( I cam do that free ) . I called and requested refund!
