Följ med Imagine Israel Tours på en guidad resa genom Gaza kuvertet (Otef Aza), Israels mest känslomässigt kraftfulla och historiskt betydelsefulla region i kölvattnet av attackerna den 7 oktober 2023. Denna tur är mer än historia - det är minne, motståndskraft och en uppmaning att aldrig glömma. Vi stannar till vid Kibbutz Yad Mordechai vid norra gränsen till Gaza och lär oss om områdets historia, geografi och strategiska betydelse.
Vi kommer att stanna utanför Moshav Nativ Ha’asara, det närmaste civila samhället till Gaza och höra om terroristattacker på skärmflygare, som förde kriget till denna fredliga by.
Vi besöker Nahal Oz utkik byggd till minne av de 16 unga observatörer som mördades den 7 oktober och lär oss om de 7 unga kvinnor som kidnappades och vad som hände med dem.
Vi stannar utanför Kibbutz Be’eri, ett av de samhällen som drabbades hårdast under Hamas dödliga attack, med 102 människor mördade och 32 kidnappade till Gaza - 10 av dem är fortfarande kvar. Samhällets förluster var bland de värsta den dagen. Du kommer att få höra flera berättelser om de fasor som familjer drabbats av. Vi får också höra om en hjälte som gav sitt liv för att rädda sitt samhälle och lära sig om hur framtiden ser ut för denna kibbutz. Vi går också in i skyddsrummet vid busshållplatsen där Yuval Rafael, Israels deltagare i Eurovision 2015, begravdes under döda kroppar i 8 timmar.
Väg 232 Bombskyddsrum: Visa din vördnad på denna symboliska plats, varifrån ett antal ungdomar kidnappades, inklusive Hersh Goldberg. Väg 232 har nyligen fått en helt ny yta efter förödande skador från raketer, bränder och RPG:er. Vi får också lära oss historien om Aner Shapira som gav sitt liv för att rädda andra som är fångade i skyddsrummet.
Vi går in i kibbutzen för lunch i den gemensamma matsalen. Vi besöker platsen där Bipin Joshi, den heroiska nepalesiska arbetaren, togs som gisslan och hans vänner från Nepal och Thailand dödades. Vi får veta vad som hände på Kibbutz Alumim den dagen.

Ett djupt rörande stopp vid platsen för Nova Music Festival nära Kibbutz Re’im, där 364 ungdomar dödades och 43 kidnappades. Webbplatsen fungerar nu som ett spontant minnesmärke där vänner & familjer har skapat personliga minnen & hyllningar till sina nära och kära.
"Bilkyrkogården" nära Moshav Tkuma: den spöklika samlingen av 1 560 brända och förstörda fordon som bärgades efter attackerna - nu som ett tillfälligt minnesmärke. Berättelser om många av fordonens ägare finns att läsa med hjälp av QR-koder som finns uppställda i närheten. Dessa förkolnade fordon är inte bara skräp - de bär berättelser och hjärtesorg av de människor som en gång körde dem.
Besök på platsen för den förstörda Sderot polisstation där en hård strid ägde rum den 7 oktober. Lär dig historien om Amer Odeh Abu Sabila, en hjältemodig beduinsk byggnadsarbetare som räddade 2 unga flickor efter att deras föräldrar mördades. Amer sköts när han räddade dem, men hans mod säkerställde flickornas överlevnad.

What a wonderful albeit emotional day we had touring the Gaza envelope Simon is sooooo knowledgeable, a truly convivial, relaxed and warm gentleman to boot. At every turn on our many stops he had such fascinating stories that only enhanced our experience. Not to mention he picked us up in a super comfy roomy car and is an excellent driver, and was so lovely, courteous and completely watching for our pace as we made our stops along an emotionally impactful journey through the Gaza envelope many kibbutz and many profound memorials. Simon was a most informative tour guide. He had lots to share regarding the history of the event as well as biblical and modern history of Israel. I would like to highly recommend Simon, the tour operator who guided my family through the Otef Gaza region. We began the day with some understandable apprehension, but Simon immediately set a thoughtful and reassuring tone by starting our visit at Yad Mordechai, where he gave an excellent overview of the area’s history, beginning with the earliest modern Jewish communities. Throughout the day, Simon took us to a number of important sites close to the Gaza border, including a viewpoint over the region, the grounds where a major music event had taken place, several protected structures used by local residents, & neighbourhoods that were significantly affected. We finished our tour at the location of the Sderot police station, an important landmark in recent events. Simon was exceptionally knowledgeable, & he presented everything with clarity, balance, & great sensitivity. Despite the challenging nature of the subject matter, he made the experience meaningful, accessible, & deeply informative. His professionalism, empathy, & understanding of the region were evident throughout the day. Simon is a licensed Israeli tour guide, & based on this experience, I would not hesitate to hire him again to explore other parts of Israel. I wholeheartedly recommend him.
