Since it is in Scotland, please be prepared for weather. It rained a bit but not a downpour. Yes, we were prepared. The tour itself was was very interesting. Jonny has very good knowledge of the city and varied architecture of the different buildings. The walk was at a good pace and not too difficult. Ending at the cathedral was a perfect end. We went back to visit the graveyard due to the interesting construction of the headstones and mausoleums. We also were able to get some pictures of the cathedral from the graveyard that we didn't get on our first trip here. Hopefully we are able to make and back to Glasgow and will definitely do this again. We didn't ask questions on the walk because we didn't know what we didn't know.
Johnny of Glasgow Gander walking tours was an amazing guide!! A true Glasgow ambassador. Very knowledgeable of the city and history. Well enjoyed the 3 hour walk.
This was the very best introduction possible to Glasgow! Johnny is knowledgeable, professional, and passionate about "Mother Glasgow"! We could not have had a better experience. We highly recommend booking with Glasgow Gander!
We thoroughly enjoyed Johnny's tour. His knowledge, passion, heart and humour made this one of the best walking tours we have ever had (and we've done a few!) We learned so much about "Mother Glasgow" and it's fascinating history. The group was small which made the tour much more personal, unlike some others we saw around the city with large crowds of people trailing after someone carrying an umbrella and a megaphone. This meant that we could all ask questions and clearly hear the answers. Afterwards, we visited several places that Johnny had recommended to us, which enriched our visit even more. Thanks Johnny for a really memorable tour of a fantastic city 😊
Had an awesome tour around Glasgow. Saw many different sights and our tour guide was excellent in explaining the different areas around Glasgow.
Johnny was everything we love in a guide. He was friendly and interested in my wife and I, but his real love is clearly Glasgow. The three hour walking trip was packed with interesting information, but also had reasonable opportunities to rest our feet. As a history nerd, I enjoyed connecting the built environment of the city with its rich history as the former second city of the empire.
Go prepared - It is Scotland so assume some rain at some point. Our Guide Johnny was very prepared, (even had extra umbrellas for those who weren’t). He knew and loved his s City & had some great antidotes on different areas & topics.. He was patient, yet timely and made a very specific point to speak to everyone directly to get to know them a little better also!
The walking tour was excellent due to our tour guide. He knew so much about Glasgow! Very interesting history and beautiful. We were very impressed and he answered all of our questions. Wear comfortable shoes as there is a lot of walking.
This was a very good tour. The guide was very friendly and informative. He explained the historical and cultural side of Glasgow in an interesting and fun way. He pointed out things along the way that most people would miss. I highly recommend this tour.
Johnny was a fantastic tour guide! Communicated through Viator on where to meet to start the tour. Was very knowledgeable and passionate about the history of Glasgow. He answered any questions we had and even purchased Irn-Bru (Scottish soda) for us to try. He provided recommendations and sent an extensive list of them after the tour! I highly recommend this tour.
