En oförglömlig dag att upptäcka Gran Canarias klippiga västkust och den gröna norr långt från massturismen. Under denna dag kan du passa på att bada i de vackraste naturliga simbassängerna på ön. Att välja oss innebär att du väljer att resa samtidigt som du tar dig tid, återupptäcker mångfalden av landskap men också dess lokala, historiska, kulturella och gastronomiska arv. Din utflykt är helt privat, utan onödiga affärsstopp. Vi har varit etablerade i många år på ön Gran Canaria. För mer än 20 år sedan blev vi förälskade i dess människor, dess landskap och dess traditioner. Vi brinner för att besöka varje hörn av vår vackra ö. Vi kommer att göra ett fotostopp vid "Molino de Viento". Det är en väderkvarn som ligger några kilometer från Mogan. Den muntliga traditionen säger att det var en herde från La Aldea som satte eld på den som vedergällning mot kommunmakten. Sedan dess var det känt som Moulin Brûlé. Den restaurerades 1998. Dess 7 meter höga torn gör den till den största väderkvarnen på Gran Canaria.
Vi kommer att stanna för att beundra "Azulejos de Veneguera", ett naturmonument bildat av en komplex process av stelning av vätskorna som drivs ut av vulkanen Tejeda och som erosionen under tusentals år har lämnat exponerad. Ett berg som om vi färgade det med penseldrag. Erosion avslöjade en serie geologiska lager, mineraler tonade med rödaktiga, ockra, gröna och blå toner. Lokalbefolkningen gav namnet "Los Azulejos de Veneguera" på grund av deras likhet med de färgglada kaklade väggarna i San Nicolas de Tolentino.
I Puerto de la Aldea hittar vi den enda lättillgängliga stranden på hela denna kust. Vi går runt hamnen och går sedan mot "El Charco". Det är en liten naturlig sjö som ligger på stranden i La Aldea, som består av havsvatten. Festligheterna i El Charco, i byn San Nicolás, är en av de mest kända och populära evenemangen på Kanarieöarna. Varje 11 september, i stadens "sjö", samlas hundratals människor för att fiska med sina egna händer efter fisken som lever i denna kustlagun. Denna festival anses vara en tillgång av kulturellt intresse och är baserad på en förspansktalande tradition. Efter en lång biltur längs de klippiga avgrunderna med ett stopp för att ta bilder av den vilda kusten, kommer vi fram till vårt nästa stopp "Puerto de Las Nieves".
Agaete har några av de mest populära naturliga poolerna och stränderna i den norra delen av ön. Vi kommer att gå längs dess pittoreska maritima strandpromenad och stanna vid de naturliga poolerna. Glöm inte din baddräkt om du vill bada i dessa pooler! En unik och oförglömlig upplevelse!
Efter att ha simmat, kommer vi att gå mot hamnen i Agaete "Puerto de las Nieves", en liten fiskehamn med sina många fiskrestauranger vid havet. Detta kommer att vara det perfekta stoppet för en välförtjänt lunchrast på en typisk kanarisk restaurang bjuder på lokalfångad fisk. (Måltider ingår inte i priset för utflykten). Efter maten går vi i hamnen med sina vita och blå hus vid foten av stenstranden. Vi kommer att passa på att se vad som finns kvar av den berömda "Dedo de Dios", hamnens emblematiska klippa. Det är en monolit som stiger upp från havet som hade formen av en hand och ett finger som pekade mot himlen. Efter en storm hösten 2005 kollapsade fingret. Allt som återstår idag är handen. Då är det dags att ta vägen till Arucas.
Vi lämnar nu huvudvägen mot Arucas. Här är landskapet väldigt grönt och det finns bananplantager och typiska "fincas" överallt. I denna region spelar jordbruket en huvudroll. I Arucas besöker vi (exteriört) katedralen "Iglesia de San Juan". Denna enorma kyrka med fyra torn byggdes i svart basalt.

We had a great time with Fabian. Myself and my 13 years old daughter enjoyed his stories about the island and visiting places that were picturesque and certainly memorable. Lunch was super tasty and we loved trying typical Canarian food. Fabian was also patient with us when we wanted to stop and buy some nicely crafted souvenirs - much appreciated. Through his excursion, Fabien has shown us some of the wonders of Gran Canaria. He was able to satisfy our thirst for curiosity about the history, geography and culture of this island. We had the opportunity to take a trip to the mountains of Gran Canaria in December 2023 with this company and we were completely satisfied. So this year, for our return to the island we booked the full tour of the island and obviously again with Fabien. It was like meeting a long-time friend. You could see he was really happy to see us again. We toured the island as indicated on the program and even with a few little “Plus”, because Fabien knows how to adapt according to his clients and does not count his time. We enjoyed visiting the beach area of “La Aldea” Fabien showed us sites that we could not have discovered alone. The fish meal in Agaete facing the port was very good and typical. The West Coast is wild and beautiful. Fabien has many different excursions and as we return every year, we have already planned a completely different excursion. Having just completed my second tour with Fabien (my first was two years ago), I can confidently say that it is one of Gran Canaria's best guidebooks. This "Jane McDonald Tour" was absolutely fantastic and took us to some of the island's most beautiful hidden treasures. Fabien’s profound knowledge and passion for Gran Canaria are evident at every stop. From the crystal clear waters of Tufia with its charming white-blue houses and cave dwellings to the impressive neo-Gothic San Juan Bautista church in Arucas - every stop was a highlight. The historic centre of Arucas with its 17th-century architecture was particularly fascinating. ==References== A special highlight was the visit to Firgas, also known as the "balcony of the Atlantic". The Paseo de Gran Canaria with its waterfall road and the Paseo de Canarias, which shows the landscapes of all the Canary Islands, offer breathtaking photographic motifs. Lunch here was a unique experience with local watercress dishes - a truly authentic taste of Canarian cuisine! The last stop at Puerto de las Nieves in Agaete was overwhelming, with its natural pools and iconic Dedo de Dios rock formation. The blue and white houses along the pebble beach perfectly embody the charm of this fishing village. What distinguishes Fabien is his charming personality, his many years of experience and his ability to convey not only the tourist places but the authentic soul of Gran Canaria. His personable nature and professional approach make the 8-hour tour seem like an excursion with a well-informed friend. I have now done two different tours with Fabien and would book again at any time. If you want to experience the real Gran Canaria with an excellent guide, Fabien is the place to be. His tours are worth every euro! Tip for travellers: Think of comfortable shoes, sun protection and bathing gear if you want to swim in the natural pools!
