While being able to see Budapest during the short time I’m in Vienna was incredible, it was a very long day that included terrible traffic and construction on the way to Budapest (not anyone’s fault, though). The van was clean, but cramped; there was also a child in our group who clearly had some sinus condition so I was hoping to not catch some sickness. I had to sit in the middle and I wasn’t very comfortable. Because it states this tour is limited to 16 people I was expecting a small shuttle bus, not a 9-seat van. Two of the people who signed up for the tour ended up on a completely different van with a different guide. We weren’t very happy to be separated. This is also not a “curated tour.” The description is misleading. You’ll get to where you’re going, with a little history, but there’s not much information that’s given. You’re basically on your own for most of it. So if you’re expecting an actual tour, you will not get that. Our driver, Danny, was very nice, was a safe driver, and knew how to get around really well with the traffic. I knew going into it that we’d not have a lot of time in either city, but just to get a taste. Now I am definitely going back to Budapest on my own in the future now that I know how incredible the city is.

8 people crammed in a tight van. Not enough leg room, risk of developing DVT for all that long period of driving. More driving than spending un-rushed time in places. Poor comnunication with tour guide/van driver on where he parked to pick us up when our pick up clearly stated in front of hotel. Driver-and-guide in one. Though nice and spoke English, still difficult to understand everything A big disappointment from Viator. Poor management of expectations, did not disclose type and size if vehicle. Did not deliver, dishonest. Transportation was extremely terrible. DO NOT book unless they disclose truetransportation conditions.
Marko is a fantastic tour guide, he went above and beyond to make our experience one to remember. The schedule for the day was planned very well allowing plenty of time to enjoy and learn about the various sights, have lunch and free time. I was really happy to also have time allowed for dinner at the end of the day as well as further free time. It really ended the tour with a bang. Here’s to you Marko!
This tour was 15 hours. We were exhausted when we got back. However, our tour guide, Marko, was wonderful. He showed us all the highlights and answered all our questions and offered good dining suggestions. I think you could skip Bratislava and spend more time in Budapest. However, it was nice to see two cities we never would have visited without this tour.
Very relaxed and well paced tour. Our guide Sebastian was very accommodating and kind. He let us take in the sights without too much monologue. An excellent guide and an excellent time!
This private tour is the best value on Viator. It was a trip of a lifetime and we got to spend it with the kindest and very knowledgeable, Sebastian. We were picked up at our door. We were traveling with four rowdy kids and our tour guide, Sebastian joked with them, bought them treats and quickly built a relationship, making the trip so much fun for the parents. We toured Bratislavia and Budapest with ease. Being able to travel through the countryside of Slovakia and Hungary was also a highlight of our trip. We would give this trip 100/10. It is an authentic experience and an excellent value for the cost. Request Sebastian, he is the BEST!
This trip was amazing for having little time in Vienna. We got to explore two other countries' capitals in one day. We felt like it was enough time at each location. Sasha was an amazing tour guide. He picked us up promptly from Hotel Daniel. We drove to Bratislava and he gave us some key information (in English) and then gave us some recommendations for our free time. The meeting spot was made very clear. He sent us WhatsApp messages with pinned points on Google Maps. Then we drove to Pest, then Buda, and got ample time in each to at least get a meal, souvenirs, and explore a bit. Sasha is knowledgeable and easy to understand. He speaks 4 languages! He drove quickly and safely. Bratislava and Budapest were both beautiful walkable cities with many great photo opps. Highly recommend this tour. We booked it individually, for a total of 5 friends
