Plitvice är kända som ett naturfenomen eftersom de hela tiden förändras genom sedimentering av kalciumkarbonat och skapar speciella sorters alger och mossa, tuff eller travertin som har avsatts och fortfarande deponeras för att bilda de naturliga dammar som skiljer sjöarna åt. Eftersom processen pågår idag, precis som den alltid har gjort, byggs nya travertinbarriärer, gardiner, stalaktiter, kanaler och kaskader allt eftersom de befintliga förändras. Så det spelar ingen roll om du har besökt sjöarna tidigare, de ser förmodligen annorlunda ut nu, så att du kan besöka dem igen och aldrig bli uttråkad. Förutom sjöarna finns det några intressanta grottor där rester av förhistoriska bosättningar har hittats.

We had the most amazing day with Antonia. As a guide, she could not have been better - informative, knowledgeable, patient and fun. The scenery is absolutely spectacular, and we were lucky that the threatened rain never appeared. Be prepared for a long bus ride, but the lakes and waterfalls you will see make the drive definitely worthwhile

The tour was amazing! Our guide Antonia was really good, with useful advice, interesting stories about Croatia and very clear with the instructions. Regarding the tour itself, the couch was very comfortable, the stops were in nice places (free/clean WCs, good food) and the route inside the park was well thought. The park itself is amazingly beautiful!! Astonishing views and pure nature!
Antonia was amazing and very helpful, she did a wonderful job explaining the history and culture of Croatia and the lakes and allowed optimal freedom to walk around and take photos. Highly recommend

Ivan, aka Sir Richard, was truly a wonderful guide and human shepherd as he joyfully and patiently herded our group through the most beautiful park. With some absolutely breathtaking views, we were so grateful to have gotten a chance to see this national park on our trip to Croatia. The bus ride was so smooth and comfortable from Split. Marco, the driver, did a great job. We appreciated all the stops and pauses for bathrooms and breaks along the way, particularly on such a warm day. Very much worth the day and the money.
Highly recommended! We had the most fantastic time in Plitvice lakes with the talented guide Luka; He was both knowledgeable and funny, made sure everyone is on track and made an extraordinary effort to organise a smooth day trip despite a large group. Plitvice lakes are stunningly beautiful! still you need a guide like Luka to make sure you don’t miss any view and to know the right trail to take.
