The guide was subcontracted through the booking agency. He and the camp cook were both great—friendly, hardworking, and did their best throughout. However, the overall trip did not match what was advertised. I had specifically expected a progressive drift where we would float new sections of river each day with camp set up ahead. Instead, we stayed at the same campsite about 45 minutes from San Carlos de Bariloche for all four nights. The site itself was quite close to a main road, so it didn’t feel particularly remote or peaceful. We also ended up drifting the same section of the Río Limay twice, and on one day we drove back to within five minutes of town to start the float. This made the experience feel more like a series of day trips rather than a true multi-day wilderness float. Fishing conditions were tough, which I understand can happen. The first day was good with a couple of solid rainbows and a brown, but the following days were very slow—only one fish per day on two days, plus a few small fish on another. Repeating water likely didn’t help. Overall, while the scenery was beautiful and the people were great, the trip was underwhelming and did not meet expectations for the price. Given the experience, I would probably opt for a quality day trip out of Bariloche next time rather than a multi-day.

Regarding the itinerary, as mentioned from the beginning, there was a possibility of fishing the Limay River instead of the Collón Curá depending on weather conditions. Due to heavy rains, the Collón Curá was muddy and unfishable, while the Limay — which remains clear — was the only viable option to carry out the expedition. As for the camp, the Limay River runs within Nahuel Huapi National Park, where camping is currently restricted to specific authorized areas. For this reason, we set up a base camp by the river on private, exclusive, and permitted land, ensuring both safety and comfort. Regarding repeating a section of the river, this was a decision agreed upon with you during the trip, as that stretch had produced very good fishing on the first day, which is why you agreed to fish it again. We regret that the experience did not fully meet your expectations, but we truly appreciate your feedback as it helps us continue improving. Best regards,
This trip surpassed my expectations as I am new to fly fishing. Renzo was an amazing guide for my sister and me. He gave excellent instructions followed with gentle reminders on technique throughout the day. He celebrated with us as we caught several beautiful rainbow trout of significant size through out the absolutely gorgeous day on the river. I was hoping I would catch one. An amazing say from beginning to end. Thank you Renzo!

We had an amazing day fly fishing on the Lamay River with our guides Renzo and Dante. Three out of the four of us, were relative beginners but the guides were patient and taught us a lot. We caught a lot of good size rainbow trout. The steak lunch with a nice bottle of Malbec was fantastic. This day of fishing was a highlight of a week trip to Bariloche.

From the start Lucas was very informative and quick to answer my questions. When our flight cancelled he was very flexible about getting us rescheduled. Everything happened exactly as he promised. Our guide Danté was amazing. Lots of wind on the river from different directions but he did a great job on putting us on the fish and keeping the boat and us in position. He was very patient with my wife, who was a 1st time fly fisher. Lunch was great with some homemade treats from Dantés wife and great food and wine. My only regret of the day was hooking a huge brown on our last turn on the river and not landing it (he is haunting my dreams these past few nights 😁) Guess I’ll have to come back and try again. I highly recommend this team and company for your Bariloche fishing adventure!!

I visited Bariloche and we hired this company to do a fishing trip. We floated the Limay River and the experience was spectacular. We were provided with all the full fishing equipment and the guide Dante was very attentive and patient to teach us as we were beginners. For lunch they prepared us a grilled steak eye better than in a restaurant!!! It was delicious!! We caught several rainbow and brown trout. It was one of the best days of our vacation in the south! We will definitely go fishing with them again!! Thanks guys for everything!!!

My husband are both in out late 70’s so some may think this would not be the trip for us. However, the whole trip was wonderful. We caught a lot of great fish, Browns and Rainbows, thanks to the expertise of our guide Lucas. The camp crew were great. The meals and service were excellent. Can’t saw enough good things. Try this trip on Collon Cura. You will love it!
