Filerimos Hill & Fjärilsdalen

Beskrivning

Destination: Filerimos hill. The welcome is unusual because, already in the square, you encounter various peacocks that are not at all intimidated by the presence of visitors. We embarked on the path of the Calvary to reach the large Cross that could also be seen from the center of Rhodes where we were staying. The Way of the Calvary or Golgotha, with its 14 stations, dates back to the period of Italian occupation from 1912 to 1945. The large Cross is situated on a wide balcony from which one can admire a beautiful and vast panorama of the airports, the sea, and even the coasts of Turkey. We also visited the meticulously maintained little church with Byzantine icons next to the balcony. The fresh air and the company of the peacocks, which occasionally displayed the wheel of their tail, made the beautiful day spent in Filerimos even more enjoyable.
Thank you very much.
Fine excursion. Wanted to butterfly valley and only went in combination with something else. In this case, with Filerimos. Pick up was neat on time at agreed spot. Minibus was completely full but just went. Butterfly Valley was just too early in the season so we only saw a few butterflies. Entrance fee was adjusted accordingly. Definitely nice trip (also with fewer butterflies)
Thank you,the valley is visired from 01/4 to 30/10 ,is not so for the butterflies but for the exceptional microclima and the amazing environment ,is protected by NATURA
the visit to Filerimos was disappointing in the only toilets are inside the grounds of the monastery and was told i had to buy a ticket for 10 euros - the visit to butterfly valley is pointless as it is not the season for butterflies ! bit of a wasted trip
The 10,00 euro that you paid is for the historical site ,if you could explain that you want to visit toilet is free of charge ,the Valley is a place protected by Natura and most of the visitors are coming over 7-8 months to the place because of the amazing microclima and enviroment not only for the butterflies ,this period are few butterflies ,after 15 of June they will be plenty.
We had a really good time. At the monastery you could walk around outside, or pay €10 to walk around the monastery grounds and the monastery buildings. Then back to the luxury Aircon minibus and off to Butterfly Vally. We had plenty of time there, the entry to the valley was €3 per adult. We only walked 1/2 of the Vally. We then decided to have a meal at the restaurant on site. Very good food, good value for money. Usually have inflated prices at these type of venues due to their seclusion. Not in this case! Booking was easy, and communication from the agent was very clear as to the pick up point and time. A driver was very helpful and informative. Clearly informed us as to travel times, things to do when we got there and pick up times. The butterflies are only in the valley from mid June to September, but still worth €3 to walk through the valley with bird singing and the relaxing sound of water running.
Thank you very much, we appreciate it.
Well-organized tour, convenient on time and with clear indications on schedules and stops. Very nice valley of butterflies, would not mind a little more time available.
Beautiful nature some butterflies, unfortunately end of season but still beautiful. You can see crabs cats anyway and has a nice hiking trail, though possibly exhausting for some. Nevertheless, there are always small rest corners to take a break
Thank you very much.
Fabulous if a little crowded on the lower parts Need to be able to climb a lot of steps Wonderful to see all the butterflies
Thank you very much.
Well worth the visit the views from Filiermos were spectacular. The Vally of the Butterflies was cool and refreshing, and a wonderful connection to nature.
Thank you very much.
Beautiful experience, wonderful monastery absolute peace and Valley of the Butterflies wonderful!!Tour with Viatour organized very well and impeccable guide and very kind
Thank you very much .
We had a great time during this visit. The monastery is really beautiful, very well maintained and exudes serenity. The tree-lined walkways are splendid, you really take your eyes with these green landscapes and peaceful atmosphere. Regarding the Butterfly Valley, we initially thought we would discover several species, but in reality it is an impressive concentration of the same type of butterfly. It remains a breathtaking sight: seeing so many of them in their natural environment is a unique experience. The course that surrounds them is perfectly arranged and integrates harmoniously into nature, which makes the walk even more pleasant. The time allotted to the visit, whether for the monastery or the valley, is amply enough to fully enjoy the place without rushing. Practical advice: plan comfortable walking shoes, as some parts of the path can be a bit steep. In short, a rewarding and well-organized visit, which allows you to discover both a superb cultural heritage and an impressive natural curiosity. We highly recommend!
Dear Dorine, Thank you very much,we try hard to offer the best possible service.
