Din resa börjar med familjen Killigrew – mäktig, ambitiös och med ett rykte som suddar ut gränsen mellan respektabelt kaperi och kriminell piratverksamhet. De tillbringade 1500-talet med att få ett dåligt rykte... men 1600-talet med att bygga en ny stad.
Falmouth börjar ta form som en skrotig liten sjöman hemsökelse. Men med ankomsten av Packet Service, Falmouth är plötsligt ansluten till ett globalt nätverk. Nyheter, pengar och folk börjar strömma genom hamnen.
På sin höjd frodas Falmouth. Fartyg trängs i hamnen, seglare fyller gatorna och staden nynnar av internationell energi. När du står här med utsikt över vattnet får du en känsla av hur viktigt det här stället en gång var.
Men framgång varar inte. Samma krafter som byggde Falmouth börjar skifta, och staden står inför en plötslig och dramatisk nedgång. Stadens självförtroende börjar rämna.
Även om Falmouth avböjer, spelas stora händelser fortfarande ut här. Tänk, kannibaler, brottmål, drama.
Falmouth hittar ett nytt syfte. Och så avslutar vi vår turné med att reflektera över en historia om dynamik, möjligheter och ett hopp om vad nästa dag kommer att medföra.

This was a terrific tour, we learned so much about Falmouth in this 2 hour tour thanks to Will. This was not a “facts and figures” tour but a very entertaining story telling walk. Will entertained us with his accordion, historical poems, and just his good nature way of leading our group

Bobby was extremely knowledgeable and also added humor into his stories. He walked at a reasonable pace and stopped to talk to the group to make sure everyone could hear. Great tour!

Very engaging! Guide was very knowledgeable as well as entertaining. Be prepared to walk up steep inclines and stairs.
In short: I recommend the tour. In long: We had Bobby as a guide on a sunny Falmouth tour, he was able to tell us a lot of the history of Falmouth (which is also a personal interest of him), stuff even the locals don't seem to know, show us around, have some recommendations and a laugh with personal anecdotes and stories. It was a genuinely great experience and one of the best tours I've been on (overall). Group size was about 10 people, which was perfect. Trip itself is likely challenging for less mobile people, since Falmouth has some steep roads and stairs. One tip though: do book directly through them and not through another site to save yourself some money.
