Srebrenica-massakern, även känd som folkmordet Srebrenica, var folkmordet i juli 1995 på mer än 8000 bosniaker, främst män och pojkar, i och runt staden Srebrenica under Bosniska kriget. Morden begicks av enheter av den bosniska serbiska armén av Republika Srpska (VRS) under ledning av Ratko Mladić. Du kommer att kunna förstå Yugoslaviens fall, hur och varför massakern hände.

Staden Srebrenica ligger cirka två och en halv timme från staden Sarajevo. Medan du kan njuta av landskapet kommer vi att starta vår presentation med detaljerade berättelser, kronologiskt ordnade så att du kan förstå en komplex fråga om "jugoslaviska krig" som är avgörande för din förståelse av folkmordet i Srebrenica. Vårt första stopp är framför batterifabriken, som används av FN-styrkor under kriget i Bosnien. I tidigare holländska bataljonens huvudkontor ligger nu ett av de mest moderna museerna i Bosnien och Hercegovina, "Museum of Srebrenica Folkmord". Där kommer vi att träffa kuratoren och uppleva första hand berättelsen om överlevnaden i Srebrenica enklaven. Museet är utrustat med multimediafaciliteter med urval av filmer, som hjälper dig att förstå händelser som ledde till den värsta massakern i Europa sedan andra världskriget. Från Museum of Srebrenica Folkmord fortsätter vi till Memorial room, där du kommer att kunna höra offrens historier som gjordes av en lokal journalist. Offren som hittades och identifierats vilar på Memorial kyrkogården. När vi besökte Potocari Memorial Center fortsätter vi vår resa till staden Srebrenica. En gång är industriledaren i området nu en spökstad. Srebrenica är också platsen för lunchen, eftersom det inte finns många restauranger i närheten av Potocari Memorial Center.

Keenan was a very considerate and knowledgable host. He answered any questions we had fully. It’s quite a difficult trip but we felt it was important to be aware and pay our respects to the fallen.
The museum was located at the former UN Dutch Battalion Headquarters. The exhibition is well designed. Worth a visit if you are interested to learn about the atrocities that took place in July 1995. A special thanks to our guide Kenan, who is very helpful and happy to answer all our questions.
It was a great experience, with good knowledge from the tour guide. I did have to contact the tour operator to confirm my pick-up location. Overall, a recommended trip.

This was a beautiful, heavy but memorable visit to learn more about the genocide and massacre that occurred in Bosnia. Before the tour, they contacted us over Whatsapp and were very accommodating and communicative. During the tour, Kenan was an entertaining and knowledgeable guide, giving us ample time to explore the museums ourselves and spent time at the cemetery. He also had great taste in music!
