The zip line was fun, but they waited over 30 minutes for two people who never showed up. My tickets were for 8:00 (ship docked at 7:00, so we got to them at 7:45; we knew we would be on time). They said they were waiting for two more couples. One couple arrived about 8:00, but we waited past 8:30 for another couple (we never saw them).
Had a great time on this excursion. Edgar was super polite and very informative as he brought us to our stops. Even went back to pick up our shoes we left on the snorkel boat. Didn’t hesitate one second after offering to help us out!! Highly recommend this trip and him as your tour guide. Not sure if tips are/were necessary but he earned some extra love for offering to go out of his way for us!!! 10 stars for Edgar!! Thanks again and we will be back!!
This was a really fun combination of things to do. The snorkeling experience was not great - we got about 15 minutes to snorkel and were CRAMMED into a tippy boat with WAY, WAY, WAY too many people. It felt unsafe and was ridiculously crowded. When I thought it was way too crowded, they actually added FOUR more people who had been waiting over an hour on the beach to snorkel (same tour). We were uncertain about several logistical things so I'll try to run down the logistics. We met them across the street from the cruise port - just ask one of the many, many vendors for Anderson tours and they'll point you to the right people. We were really early and they took us to the zip line early - we walked from Coxen Hole cruise port (it was a quick walk) with our guide. There were people with flip flops, hats, etc. so we did NOT need closed-toe shoes (which I assumed we would) BUT I would still recommend them! (We wore water shoes, figuring if there was a beach stop we might need them then.) One person lost a tennis shoe and one person lost a flip flop - two people lost hats - the zip guides went and retrieved all of it for them. Zip lines were very fun and the staff there was excellent - they showed us different tricks to try and made it really fun. The animals are right there at the zip place so you can do those right after you zip. (Monkey, deer, sloths, macaws, guinea pigs, etc.) Then they took us by van (there were 10 of us total - our family of four and three couples) with a stop to a chocolate shop on our way to snorkeling. The stop was unnecessary but the chocolate samples were really good - we would have bought some if we weren't worried about it melting in our bags while snorkeling. We'd have preferred not to stop there and get right to snorkeling and another family we met at the snorkel place (who had waited on the beach for over an hour because the first snorkel boat they took them to was too full) had skipped the chocolate place by consensus in their van. (We were not asked and maybe nobody knew to request we not stop.) We were trying to figure out how they had an hour on the beach but started their tour at the same time we did (and we were 20 minutes early!). We jumped into the ridiculously crowded snorkeling boat, drove maybe 5 minutes away (thankfully - that boat was so full it was a little scary) and snorkeled. If you don't know what you're doing, there was no instruction (only the boat driver for crew) and there were no fins. A ladder to get into the water - it was in a bay and the water was very calm. When we stopped he just asked who needed a mask and snorkel and sent everyone off. One person requested a life vest and he had a big orange one that he helped her put around her waist to help float while snorkeling. It was free snorkeling - just swim around. There were plenty of fish to see and the driver fed them so they swarmed the boat a bit, which was fun. The boat was super tippy so every time someone went to one side or down the stairs you had to hang on tight. A similar boat pulled up next to us with 8 passengers and that would have been very comfortable on a boat that size. We had at least 20 people on our boat - two people sat behind the driver (not a normal place to sit - we heard them telling him to put them there from the dock) and two on the bow of the boat so not even in a seat. After everyone was in the water for maybe 15 minutes the driver turned on loud music as a way to draw people back to the boat - it felt like a signal to come back. Not sure what he would have done if anyone had pointed out that we'd only been out for 15 minutes and the tour said it'd be 45 minutes. But it's a relatively small area and you could cover it all in those 15 minutes. You need towels for this part. After snorkeling we rode back to the port in the van. There were a lot of people to tip on this trip - the zip line people, the person who gave the animal tour at the zip place, the chocolate shop requested tips (they had a little talk about history, coco beans, etc.), the snorkel boat driver and the person who escorted us all day. Totally fine and everyone was very good and deserved those tips but just be aware of that extra expense if that's a concern for you. Also, the zip people took a lot of pictures (well over 200 for our family of 4 - many not great but some really spectacular pictures) - they said the cost was $20/person but since we had 4 people they reduced it to $15/person. People did bring their phones and small fanny packs on the zip so that is an option. We put all of our things in the lockers (free to use) so we were really happy to have the option to buy pictures.
We booked our trip the night before but they were still able to accommodate us. The zip lines were awesome! It was fun getting to pet and hold the animals. The beach was nice, Snorkeling with “Aquaman” and “Edgar Barbosa” was fun, we saw a sting ray. The food at the restaurant on the beach was delicious! Would do it again!
William was a wicked driver and tour guide. We had a great time with him. So much knowledge of the island
We loved the ziplining and snorkeling! Monique was an amazing driver and very friendly! She helped us with getting good pictures. Our snorkeling was fun! We were back to the port with plenty of time! Would recommend!
Great experience with superb guide! One of the best excursions we have made, everything from the zipline to the snorkling
Probably the best excursion I have done, not a beginner level excursion at all, but it was a ton of fun and well rounded! Would definitely go again. Allen was the man and Edgar put us in a goat school do fish. It was awesome!
The zip line was crazy! So fun! Loved the sloths and the snorkeling was epic - We wish it was longer though! Klingston was very attentive and made our day extra everything!!
Friendly and knowledgeable tour guides, easy to meet up with tour provider just outside of the Port in Coxen Hole. We had 1 main guide to take us around and then for each activity were handed over to other trained staff for that part of the experience. Awesome zip lining experience, a little more casual than some other sites we have tried in the past, and we loved the animal interactions too, all at the same site. There were some food/drink options as well for additional cost if interested. We then had a nice tour of the island as we headed over to the chocolate shop, where there are the most delicious treats to buy and you can learn about the cocoa tree and production. Unfortunately we skipped the snorkel as we didn’t have good weather, but the best part is it was like our own private tour, so slight modification was possible. We were accommodated early, as we arrived an hour early and not asked once to wait for anything. It was a great experience!!
