Dalberto Pombo miljötolkningscenter (CIADP) var resultatet av en återuppbyggnad av en byggnad i början av det historiska området Vila do Porto. Detta centrum husar naturgamlaren Dalberto Pombo, en pionjär i studien av den geologiska och biologiska mångfalden på ön och dess huvudmål är att främja kunskapen om naturarvet på ett dynamiskt och interaktivt sätt med en pedagogisk och vetenskaplig karaktär.
Barreiro da Faneca är ett omfattande område med torr och lerig terräng, som tillhör främst den geologiska enheten som kallas "Formation of Feteiras" och utgör ett halvökenlandskap med gulrödaktig färg, unikt på Azorerna.
I sin nedströms del presenterar bädden av Ribeira do Maloás, i stället för Malbusca, ett vattenfall i ett omfattande område av basaltiska pelare med 15 till 20 m hög och en förlängning på cirka 220 m. Denna prismatiska eller kolumnera sammankoppling förknippas med en subaero basaltisk lavaflöde från Pico Alto Volcanic Complex, vars prismor, av anmärkningsvärda dimensioner, är avkortade i toppen och avslöjar ett hexagonalt polygongolv av typen "Calçada de Gigantes", en vulkanisk struktur världsberömd från Irland.
Det är ett av de största vattenfallen i Portugal, hundra meter högt. Vid botten av vattenfallet finns en grunt sjö och på en av bankerna, en plats där du kan ta en picknick.

We stayed at the bungalow in the campingsite for some days and all it was wonderful!!! Very clean and beautiful view at the sea!!! Marco so nice and ready to help with anything !!!

My father was born on Santa Maria, but he moved away over 50 years ago as a young boy so he didn’t remember his way around the island. Marco agreed to pick us up from the airport when we landed at 0700 and start the tour 2 hours early. The island is beautiful, and Marco’s love and passion for his home are evident throughout. A delicious lunch at a local restaurant was included in the price. Overall, it was terrific tour and the highlight of my families trip to Portugal. If it was possible to give the tour a higher rating than 5 stars I would. Thank you so much for an excellent day. I hope to come back in the future and book again with Paraiso Radical.
We do guided tours everywhere we go and most are exceptionally good but this was extra special exceptionally good. Marco made everything perfect. He is rightfully very proud of his island with all the history and details anyone could ever want. Yes, that is the job of a tour guide but you will find him to be exceptional. At the end of our Friday tour he came back to our hotel and said there was something he forgot to show us and came back in the morning to give us the free extended tour. If you want to rent a kayak, scooter or bicycle be is also your guy.

I had an amazing whirlwind day seeing every single inch of the island of Santa Maria! The tour culminated at Pico Alto rhe highest point of the island where i got an amazing perspective of the whole iland with stunning views! My guide was very personable, flexible and accommodating. I was delayed in arriving and he was gracious enough to change the date and even dropped me off at the airport because we didn't have time to ho back to the hotel. All in all a wonderful experience!
This was an amazing experience with a wonderful and fun guide. Marco was a local and well known on the island. He knew almost anything we could ask and was always willing to go wherever we wanted. Santa Maria is such a beautiful Island, literally ever turn was a post card. My husband and myself were so happy to be shown around with such hospitality despite knowing no Portuguese, we look forward to returning. PS he also dealt well with our 16 year old nephew.

It was a surprisingly positive experience!!!!5*!!! A kayak tour on the coast of São Lourenço, which is beautiful, we entered several beautiful caves and we were bathing on a beach, which only has access by the sea, with the right to a snack and everything!!!! Very friendly people!!! I highly recommend!!!
